SD Card Playback Timeline Shows ~30-Minute Offset from Actual Camera Timestamp

Subject: SD Card Playback Timeline Shows ~30-Minute Offset from Actual Camera Timestamp

Dear Wyze Support Team,

I am experiencing a time synchronization issue specifically with SD card playback on my Wyze camera.

I have verified that the camera’s actual time is correct. During Live View, the timestamp shown on the camera matches my mobile/computer time exactly. For example, the attached screenshot shows:

Device time: 09:35 AM

  • Camera timestamp: 09:35:10 AM

  • Therefore, the camera clock is correctly synchronized.

However, when I play the same recording from the SD Card in the Wyze app, there is an approximately 30-minute discrepancy between the actual timestamp embedded in the video and the SD-card playback timeline.

For example, in the attached screenshot:

  • Actual timestamp displayed inside the recorded video: 07:10:09 AM

  • SD Card playback timeline/cursor: approximately 06:40:11 AM

  • Difference: approximately 30 minutes

This indicates that the camera clock itself is not the problem. The discrepancy appears to be with the SD-card recording index/playback timeline in the Wyze app.

Could you please investigate whether this is a known issue with the current Wyze app/firmware or SD-card playback system?

I would appreciate guidance on how to correct the SD-card timeline without losing my existing recordings.

I have attached screenshots showing both the correctly synchronized Live View time and the approximately 30-minute SD-card playback discrepancy.

Thank you.

The usual collection of questions.

What type of camera and what camera firmware version?

What App version and I assume iOS since you tagged iphone-ipad? What iOS version?

It would appear that you have the SD set to continuous recording - what’s up with the big gap in the middle?

Hi, please find my responses below:

1. What type of camera and what camera firmware version?
I have attached screenshots showing the camera model and firmware version details. I am currently using four Wyze cameras, and all four cameras are experiencing the same issues. They are all running the same firmware version.

2. What Wyze app version and iOS version are you using?
I have also attached screenshots showing the Wyze app version and iOS version.

3. It would appear that you have the SD set to continuous recording. What’s up with the big gap in the middle?
Yes, the SD cards are set to Continuous Recording. The gaps are another issue I am experiencing. During those periods, the cameras do not appear to record, and this seems to happen repeatedly every

hours. I am not sure what is causing these gaps.

This issue is also occurring across all four cameras, so it does not appear to be limited to a single camera. I have attached additional screenshots showing the gaps.

To try to resolve the issue, I formatted the SD cards as exFAT, as the cards are larger than 32 GB. However, the issue is still occurring, and I am also looking for a resolution to this problem.

So, at the moment, I am experiencing the following issues across all four cameras:

  1. The SD card playback timeline is approximately 30 minutes behind the actual timestamp displayed in the recorded video.

  2. There are unexplained gaps in Continuous Recording every few hours.

Since the same issues are occurring on all four cameras, and all are running the same firmware, this may indicate a firmware, app, or compatibility issue rather than an isolated camera or SD card problem.

Please review the attached screenshots and advise on the next troubleshooting steps for both issues.

Thank you.

Few more evidences for the camera gaps every hours.
