Screen timeout while in landscape

It appears that the bug mentioned in here is back as I am experiencing the following symptoms.

I start the app and rotate my Pixel 8A phone to landscape. Within minutes, the screen timeout is tripped and the screen blanks. I then wake the phone to show the camera feed and the problem does not occur again.

I’m using version 3.76.699 of the App.

Mee too, with a couple years old Galaxy and same Android app version.

Also happening to my wife and I on both of our phones.

BUMP! Is anyone looking into this? It appears I’m not the only one affected by this issue.

Had same problem, I reinstalled the app on my phone and that seen to fix the problem. Be sure you have your password for the reinstall.

That’s a good thing to try and does fix some things that get broken by an in-place app update. I had to uninstall/reinstall the Wyze app a while back for an unrelated reason and found after I did so that I was able to use the app-provided notification sounds (“Wyze Sound 1”, “Wyze Sound 2”, etc.).

Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work for me. Neither did clearing the cache.

I hope someone from Wyze has eyes on this topic.

I have a very old, spare Samsung phone. While playing Wyze clips, it doesn’t time out.

Edit: I’m curious, do you have a video player? Download any clip and play on the phone. Does it time out, too?

@p2788deal I don’t have a problem with playing back a clip. It’s the live feed that times out and the screen goes black.

I don’t remember an update, but I am now on

v3.7.8 (702)

I don’t seem to be having the problem any more, even with the microwave running a few feet away.

That didn’t work for me, either, and I’m able to replicate the issue even on an older version of Android, though I’m seeing the screen fade and turn off even after waking the phone following the first timeout. This is happenning after I uninstalled the app, rebooted my phone, installed the app, and rebooted again. Prior to uninstalling/reinstalling the app, waking the phone after the first timeout event seemed to keep the screen active.

The first timeout event happens ~90 seconds into watching a stream even though my phone is set for a 30-second screen timeout. This is my experience testing on a single Cam v4’s Live Stream screen. Watching two Cams in a group seems to keep the streams/screen awake, as expected.

What did Support say when you submitted a log and opened a ticket that included the Log ID you generated?

I submitted a log to Wyze and have not received a reply. This is very annoying and it seems like it should be easy to resolve. There’s probably an Android setting or a Wyze setting, but, without Wyze stepping in, I’m left to tap my phone screen to re-display the live feed.

I just submitted Log ID 2103098, since the issue is occurring for me again. Times out after 30 seconds which matches my phone settings. It came back after an update a while back, but I guess I didn’t note it here. I’m now on app version v3.8.7 (725).
