Scifi show chat, engage! (watercooler topic)

Since we recently landed on the dark side of the moon, I need to watch a dark side of the moon sci-fi movie.

Any favorites?

EDIT: I guess not. Only one I can recall is a hidden German base on the dark side of the moon. It looked lame.

The Electric State is now on NetFlix. I am seeing mixed reviews on it. I have not had a chance to check it out yet.

I’ve never heard of that until now, but I’m also not a Netflix subscriber. It looks like it could be interesting and has some actors in it that I like. What I’m still really eager for is next month’s release of the second season of Andor, and I’ll probably re-watch the first season as a refresher.

So true. The voice of reason.

Hollywood always makes most robots into the bad guys. :sob:

Yea, but this is not really that way.

Have you seen it?

Not yet. I just got home from Hawaii.

The trailer made it seem like there was a good robot but most weren’t good… Which is how almost all Hollywood movies go.

Maybe except for Start Wars… Yes there was an "evil droid army"in the prequels, but even those were mostly forced into it “against their will” so to speak. Droids are mostly “good” and just abused and enslaved and mistreated by humans in Star Wars.

Most other movies make most robots evil with a few good ones. The trailer made this appear similar. It’s not?

I look forward to it either way. It will be at the top of my list too watch.

Decent is exactly how I felt. After reading many negative reviews I was expecting to turn it off midway through. It kept me captivated all the way to the end.

“ 1939 Buck Rogers serial re-edited to feature film length and re-released for theatrical distribution in 1953.”

Found a recommendation on YouTube for Dark City. Somehow I missed this gem. I just finished watching it. I love the far-out sci-fi.

The title seems familiar, but I don’t think I’ve seen it. I might have to give it a look, though, just based on Rufus Sewell’s name in the cast. His performance in The Man in the High Castle on Prime Video is outstanding! Thanks for the recommendation!

Ooh! And it’s on Kanopy! :+1: Added! :check_box_with_check:

Here is the video that led me there.

I was confusing it with the Jessica Alba movie.

Sin City, with Jessica Alba, maybe?

Have you seen The Zero Theorem? I saw a recommendation on YouTube. It might be too far out. I may watch it tomorrow.

I did like 12 Monkeys and Brazil.
