Scheduled camera directions?

I’ve had a couple of first gen Wyze cameras for years for inside my house, and just recently got a 3rd generation model for outside on my deck.

I do love it, and think some of the new automation features it offers are fantastic.

Something I’m trying to figure out, which may or may not be possible, is that I’d like to have the camera doing a static watch over my backyard during the day, but then to either only watch my deck at night, or to pan between the backyard and my deck.

The rationale behind this is that this is mostly intended as a wildlife camera and nothing really happens on the deck during the day that needs to be captured. Either I’m sitting out there, or nobody is out there. I’m more likely to see deer, foxes, or groundhogs running through my yard during the day. But we often have raccoons and opossums on our deck at night that I’d like to see. (I don’t encourage them, but I know it happens and I’d still love to see them.)

And the wyze does offer some nice security that would be great to capture on the deck during the night that’s less necessary during the day.

Is scheduled views an option? If not, is that something that might be added in the future?

I’m assuming you mean the Panv3? If so there isn’t any automation I know of to turn on or off the pan/scan feature.

Maybe the “track motion” feature would somewhat do what you’re intending if you leave it on all the time? If you center your normal position over the “static” area it will only move out of that if it detects motion (it has to be in the field of view initially, but once it starts tracking it will follow as far as it can).

There is a wishlist topic for additional automation actions but it hasn’t gained any traction, and I sort of suspect the Panv3 is basically in “maintenance mode” and we can probably expect a v4 at some point this year.
