Once I replaced ours a couple of times with cheap units, I went for the expensive three stage unit.
Quite quiet, and recommended by 8 out of 10 serial killers . . .
this thing will take bone, artichchoke whatever without a problem.
It has never jammed (although I wonder what it would do with a bottle cap).
and, indeed, my plumber friend hates the things.
