I have a lamp that is plugged into an outlet that is controlled by a wall switch. I need to continue to control that lamp with the wall switch, I also want to be able to access the lamp randomly and remotely to turn the lamp ON or OFF.
I though I could do this with a Smart Outlet, but that won’t work because if I plug the lamp into the Smart outlet I would have to have the switch on all the time to be able to control the lamp remotely with the Wyze app. I don’t see any way to continue to control a lamp with a wall switch and still be able to control the lamp remotely. Any ideas ?
That’s what the smart switch is for. But you need a neutral wire in the circuit.
Could you be a little more specific. How would I make it work ? I’m sure the outlet has a neutral wire but how does that help my situation ? The Wyze smart switch just plugs into the outlet.
No, it replaces the old switch. And you throw away the Wyze plug.
