Rat in the garage pulls his fat butt through the hole

I’ve been following a rat around the property with a bunch of cams to see what he does each time I discover and block another entrance. This time I knew he was up in the attic in the garage (the cam told me so!), but didn’t know where he was coming in. One day I saw daylight through a hole up above the garage door, so I put a cam up there to see what’s going on. Sure enough, that night he shows up and pulls his fat butt through the hole! He chewed his way through the wall - never underestimate these critters. Actually it looks like he also comes up to investigate the camera because it’s new, you can see a couple flickers of his whiskers at the very end.

Some rodents like to chew on automotive wiring. I keep snap traps in my garage next to my pickup.

The early bird gets the worm, but the 2nd rat gets the cheese.

Wyze cameras have been great for helping to get rid of rats that were in our attic and crawl space under the house. You get to see what they do so you can block openings or set up traps appropriately. The attic rat was coming up from the crawlspace through a gap where a plumbing vent pipe went through the ceiling. between walls. I filled the gap, then set up a trap on one of his paths. Another rat was still running around under the house and ignoring traps, so I found where he was getting in (a small gap between the siding and the foundation), set up a camera to see when he left every evening, then closed the opening while he was outside foraging.

I use a V1 WCO in my attic to monitor a couple of mouse traps I have up there. Works out nice.
