Question about playback on v2

I have a v2. How can I view playback on it? Do I need to get a micro SD (if so, is it only compatible with a 32gb card?) for that or can I do Cam Plus? I need to be able to rewind to a certain time to make sure my cat is feed via his automatic feeder while I’m at work. The feeder doesn’t have an app so I wanted to be able to check back and make sure it dispensed his food.

I am not sure how large of an SD card a Cam v2 will take, but I use 32GB SD cards in my v3 cameras. They are set to Continuous Recording and I get 3.5 days before the oldest files get over-written.

You don’t need a Cam Plus subscription. In the Wyze App you should be able to access your SD card to view any video that has not been over-written yet.

Welcome to the Forum, @jjl61886!

Which Wyze Cam model do you have? Is it the older Cam v2, Cam Outdoor v2, Cam Pan v2, or something else? We should probably try to get your topic moved to the Cameras category and get a different tag on it to improve its visibility.

If you’re using a regular Cam v2, then the last time I asked the chatbot on the Support site, it gave me this answer:

(See MicroSd card size chart for all Wyze Cams - #5 by Crease for context.)

For most Wyze Cams, I believe you should be able to use a microSD card set for Continuous recording and play back your own locally-recorded videos without needing Cam Plus or any other subscription. If you have your camera trained on something like an indoor food dish that should see motion only when your cat visits (or possibly when the feeder dispenses food), then you might even be able to just set microSD recording for Events Only to squeeze more use out of a smaller card and make your recordings easier to find. (Note that I don’t have any Cam v2s, so I’m guessing about the settings based on what I see with other Wyze Cams.)

Topic moved to Cameras from Tips & Tricks and added cam-v2 tag in lieu of better info.
