Plugs stop working

Don’t know what to say…the release date is straight from the Wyze support website.

Yes, I had seen it also, it was just an observation.

I can get my router to assign it an IP address, verified by the Mac address on the right frequency (2.4g), but it’s not visible by the network.

It’s weird.

same my version V1 plugs on 1.2.0.80 started dropping off wifi when power was interrupted now they won’t connect. tried resetting / reinstalling however it won’t complete the connection. - seems it connects to wifi - then drops

same experience—locally, it seems it’s working - initially connecting to the router, wifi, however it drops right away and it’s not seen by the backend server via the app. Not sure how a firmware (1.20.0.80) release years ago would all of a sudden stop working, the only thing I can think off is something with certs and wifi secuirty and a bogus embedded date that’s expired.

this from last month…

Wyze changed something on the servers…

@WyzeJasonJ any help from the staff on this???

Contacted support and was told to wait for a firmware update - not very informative or helpful when as has been noted years old firmware can’t be the culprit - it has to be on the server side…

Standard, canned response from support when no one knows what’s wrong. And, of course, no idea how long you’d have to wait for a fix. Pathetic.

In the mean time. All my smart stuff isn’t. Worse time ever… I just had surgery. Could Really use them right now

Yes, very inconvenient. Given a choice, I’d prefer wyze cameras to go offline rather than my Wyze plugs that I rely on to perform a daily on/off schedule.

Glad I’m not crazy. All my v1 plugs stopped working and won’t reconnect after a power outage 2 days ago. Please fix this Wyze!

Moved a wyze plug from the kitchen to another room and same thing happened. Tried resetting and adding 2 plugs now with no success. Goodbye Wyze.

@WyzeMatt is anyone from Wyze going to get involved with this issue?

Finally some acknowledgment of the problem.

Yes, please revert back to a firmware version that works … how hard can this be?

That would be the most sensible thing to do. They need to read the posts and perhaps use it for their debugging, meanwhile providing a temporary fix.

They should look at the timetable. I think something got triggered by the 6/30 date. At least for me I was able to trace it back because of one particular usage of one of the plugs.

We are looking into it, as far as we can tell it is only affecting the v1 plugs. We have made a change in the cloud and they will hopefully start coming back on their own but I am still watching to see if reports increase.

All mine are still offline.

Can you tell me if yours are all v1 plugs or do you also have newer ones?

Those offline are V1. Working ones are V2. Just power cycled one and didn’t connect.
