Why is the playback feature gone? This is effed up. Had to always use it because my cams were constantly missing stuff and that was the only way to see it. These cams are crap.

It probably isn’t, but Wyze has apparently been tweaking the UI on older Cams in recent app releases so that it’s more consistent with the UI of newer Cams. Most users with your complaint have been Cam v3 owners; yours is the first I recall seeing for Cam Outdoor v2. I don’t own one of those, but I wonder if you’re seeing the same thing Cam v3 users have been seeing:
