One of my V3s points out a double pane window out at my back porch. At night, the cam picks up a reflection on both sides of the lens from inside the house, catching movement and triggering notifications. This isn’t the IR light (although that is present). I’ve tried different angles, pressed the cam as close to the window as possible, but the reflections remain, unless we turn off the lights inside which presents its own issues. I was wondering if anyone might have a solution beside putting the camera outside the window.
Thanks.
I doubt this, even the cheapest lenses are coated to prevent this. If the room itself is bright, that would reflect from the glass, but it shouldn’t trigger event recording unless there’s movement in the room.
Not sure what you meant by this; are you saying the IR light is on? If so, yes, IR light is reflected by glass.
Is the camera status light enabled?
Yes, you absolutely will get a double reflection if the camera is not right up against the glass. The only way I have any Wyze cameras that are looking through my double pane windows is with the camera face pressed up against the glass. Best bet is to use the Wyze glass mount adapters because they shade about an inch around the edge which will reduce the problem.
I guess I should have included a pic of what I am seeing… In my pic, the reflection at this time is only on the left side, but you can see into the other room. If someone walks into that view, it will trigger a notification. The cam is right up against the glass.
It looks like the camera status light is on.
