Is the new Pan Scan option causing motors to fail early?
Depends on how you define premature failure. Yes, with constant motion, the rotation mechanism is likely going to wear out faster. Just like your car - if you drive 300 miles a day it is going to wear out sooner than if you drive 5 miles per day. Is that “premature failure”? Most people would not consider that to be the case…
Maybe the word premature was wrong and I should have stated earlier. I bought 4 cameras in September of 2023. I started using the Pan Scan and now 2 will no longer rotate left to right but still go up and down. They are under warranty but I was just curious if using this feature contributed? The cameras are a great deal either way.
