I had to get a new router (Whole new router and network - #6 by Sam_Bam) and am in the process of adding back all my Wyze devices.
I’ve added back two v2 cameras, couple bulbs, couple of plugs but by far the most problematic are the pan cameras (x2).
A couple things…
- Why are their lenses pointing down? The image in the app shows the lens looking straight ahead. Is this a bug?
- Secondly, how do you add the pans? I’ve tried holding my phone up close, slowly pulling away but CANNOT get it to add. CAN. NOT. I remember when I was able to add them back in the day being surprised that it worked.
- Why can’t the cameras have the QR code on THEM? The phones camera has to be far superior and therefore quicker to read a QR code. This seems to be the case on the outdoor cam hub!
Adding these cameras (at least ones that are a couple years old) shouldn’t be this much of a patience test.
Nope. Nothing.
I went up and down with phone brightness, started a couple inches away and gave it a few seconds at each distance interval as I moved back the phone.
This is ridiculous
Have you tried a factory reset on them? Press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 30 to 60 seconds. Then try to run the setup process. Your lens should be back to the normal position which should allow the camera to read the code.
Nope. Reset, it spins, says ‘ready connect’ and the camera goes back to looking down. Tried connecting with no luck.
The other pan camera is the same way. It’s default position is down.
Very frustrating
I think it’s about time for someone from support to reach out to me on this, please.
