Yes, good catch. Pan Cam V3 & Pan Cam V4. Corrected my post.
I have the error 3005. When I set up the panV4 in my office, it was working fine. Then I unplugged and set it up outside, and since then it wonāt connect. I even moved the router right next to the wall, where the pan V4 is. All my other Wyze devices, cam V4, doorbell, and robo vac, are connecting fine.
Iām lost and struggling.
PS. I can access the SD card recordings from the camera.
I did a factory reset and now I canāt connect. FML
Iām using the power socket supplied with the camera. FYI.
Edit- new pairing successful but still unable to view the live stream. Get 3005 error
If they would put in a feature to allow a user to change the FPS manually, or have a setting to be able to switch to 15FPS all the time and not just in dark light. You will still get decent ā4Kā images (slightly blurry while camera in motion). During daylight it is set to 20FPS (this is overkill for the hardware they choose to use) Switching to 15FPS will take care of the lag and disconnects. My opinion they are asking too much from the inexpensive hardware in the camera. I am sure everyone has noticed they donāt have issues when the came switches to low light settings.
Hope a DEV sees this ![]()
I think itās power related. Overnight it connected by itself. But I had to unplug it. Since powering it back up it will not connect again.
Ok, Finally found a spot to post this without starting a new feed. I have 2 cam pan v4s amongst other wyze products. I use them primarily for catching Meteors. Last night I was able to get 3, During the Geminids I was able to capture 186 in my live TikTok Stream. Pretty good for the light polluted city I live in. My issue, while I am streaming in 4k (mirroring the pc window to OBS or Tiktok) if I move out the app on my phone and then come back the reslution will drop to either 360 or Auto. Neither of which will be as good as 4k. when it does do that you cant event see stars. Wyze Engineers, Please, Please make it possible to Lock in 4k no matter what state the phone or tablet is in. Make it so it can turned off or on at the users desire. I have many friends have or recenlty purchased Cam Pan v4 for just this reason. It has a great field of view and its even possible to identfy star clusters like Pleaides and the Andromeda Galaxy. Granted they are tine but we can id them. and. While youāre at, please allow camera control on the web page too. here is a link to the 3 meteors, I captured last night. Thank you in advance. TikTok - Make Your Day
My understanding based on other posts here is if you want to lock in 4K you should leave it at āautoā all the time. As long as the cam has sufficient wifi bandwidth, that should leave it at 4K.
Iāve noticed with the regular v4 if you leave the app while the video is streaming, that can cause the resolution to change also, so make sure youāre exiting the ālive viewā of the cam before switching out of the app.
I dont think that is the case, at least for me. I sometimes see a difference when its in Auto and it sometimes drops to 360. Ill give it a try. I have gig internet up and down with Wifi 7 and bandwidth should not be an issue. And when looking at a dark sky, the camera may intepret is as nothing to see and drop down. Weāll see on the next clear night.
It usually isnāt anything to do the internet speed, it would be the wifi typically.
The cam does support Wifi 6, and both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, but none of that has anything to do with range or signal quality, all versions of wifi are susceptible to interference and capacity problems. If the cam is mounted outside that can especially be a challenge.
If the cam is connected to 5ghz (higher potential bandwidth, but lower range) it may actually be having more trouble than if it was on 2.4. And if on 2.4, that band is heavily saturated so even with strong signal, there can be low bandwidth available. In āautoā the cam tries to stay at the highest resolution it can without issues, so when it drops down, it is seeing some sort of bottleneck.
I do know others in here have reported that trying to ālockā it on 4k seems to be a temporary setting, and that Auto seems to be the only way to get it to stay on 4K (assuming it has enough bandwidth).
Also bear in mind what I mentioned about switching to another app when in live view, I know my regular v4 has issues with that and will drop to 360, however that cam doesnāt have an āautoā setting. As long as I exit live view before switching or closing the app, it stays at 2.5k all the time.
Last night i was streaming for about 4 hours. I had one phone open to the app and in auto mode. I used a second phone to access another camera. As soon as I did, the first one dropped to 360. Every time
That would seem to imply your wifi doesnāt have enough bandwidth to support 2 simultaneous streams, so the v4 has to downgrade. When you close out the second phone/cam, does the Panv4 go back to 4k after a while?
Interesting, I have never experienced that on my V4, itās been 2.5K since I bought it.
I havenāt tested it lately so maybe it has been fixed. Though I seem to recall last month sometime seeing it on 360 and having to toggle it. Maybe I accidentally changed it.
It would only happen if I switched out of the Wyze app while viewing the live view screen.
Iāve had mine since May 2024 and the resolution has never dropped below 2.5K unless I have asked for it. Wyze Gremlins maybe ![]()
Go ahead and say it, your iOS app is superior to my Android one ![]()
You made me chuckle. In all honesty, the thought never crossed my mind. That shows how insecure you are in a choice of OS. Just kidding of course.
I doubt it is app or OS related. As you said earlier might be signal related.
With the non-pan v4 it was a glitch of some sort, possibly with the app, maybe with my OS or phone. I know others had seen the same thing. I believe last year some were even seeing that changing one cam seemed to affect others too. Not sure where it all ended up. Since I usually donāt exit from live view it rarely affects me, I think if like a phone call came in that would cause it since technically that was switching apps.
I just tried to replicate it and it seems it has probably been fixed as it isnāt doing it anymore. But all that aside, the Panv4 is different and it does seem it will adjust resolution when in āautoā based on what bandwidth it thinks is available. Was just thinking some similar bug related to switching apps could also be coming into play.
I wouldnāt know as I donāt have one. All I have is V3 and V4 ![]()
I only know based on what people have written here. I donāt have any cameras with the āautoā setting but seems most of the new ones are getting that.
Well, The issue with it flagging parked vehicles in my driveway had gotten better but for the last two to three weeks its back. I think its worse now. Non stop motion recordings and notifications on parked vehicles. Its so annoying. Iāve tried tweaking all the settings. This is still a total disappointment. Not at all what Iāve come to expect from Wyze. I waited forever for them to release a PTZ 4K camera. So far this one is a bust. I hope when they finally release a door handle (not a deadbolt) its a solid product.
