Am I the only one that things there should be an option for more than 12 seconds of video? I know there is “continuous” but I feel I should be able to record something in between 12 seconds or continuous. Why can’t I set the max video to 1 minute? Here’s an example. Today my mailman walked through my garage area toward the front door…which triggered the recording. But he was at the front door area long enough the camera stopped recording and was in the 1 minute cool down … So he was able to return to his truck. Get in and drive away completely without the camera ever seeing/recording him again. if he had stopped at the car broken the window and stolen my money I would never have known…until I noticed broken glass the next time it recorded movement. I don’t want continuous 24 hour recording but 12 seconds seems to cause me problem or cause me to miss entire events. (battery cam - tagged wrong one initially)
What’s wrong with continuous recording? Even a 32 GB card will last about 3 days and will then overwrite the oldest files first when the car gets full.
You posted on another thread and mentioned battery cam but this one you’ve tagged as Camv4.
The Camv4 will record all motion, even if set to motion only recording. There is a 5 minute cooldown between event tagging if you don’t have a subscription, but it still records all motion (just doesn’t “tag” it), and is not limited to 12 seconds.
Need clarification on what cam you’re talking about.
I second this, and I’m happy to re-tag this topic if @khjesusfreak describes the use of Battery Cam Pro here. Good catch. ![]()
Sorry Sir. I had put the wrong camera. I have both and I intended to tag both cameras…but I missed the battery one. I changed it now.
The v4 will record all motion to SD card. The 5 minute cooldown only refers to events being “tagged” and “notified”. But if you look at the card timeline, you’ll see green spots where there is no event tag. And it will record for as long as motion continues, no 12 second limit. If you have a subscription, there is no cool down, all events will be tagged and notified (along with all the same recording to SD card like above).
I can’t confirm on the BCP as I don’t have one, those do need to have certain limitations to maintain battery life.
Don’t know about the battery cams - they are different, but the V4 will ALWAYS record one minute clips to the SD card. If you are only seeing 12 second clips, you are not looking at cloud video, not SD card recording.
