OG Events Skipped on micro sd card

If your camera is active as was mine not having smart detection and just having MOTION alerts isn’t great.

I agree it is a work around that I think I was the one that figured out the work around. It isn’t really a long term solution as I was getting alerts for motion to frequently. So I had to replace with a diffrent camera.

I have been having this same issue w my og cams as well & it’s getting worse. Sometimes the time bounces around as well. Time on btm will show timestamp of 10 AM, bounce to 11 AM, then back to 10, it will do this several times. But the time stamp at the top left shows the correct time. Sometimes I’ll get repeat, (the same, video) twice in a row. Seems when it detects sound or motion, those areas drop out and looking on the SD card, it shows just like yours, a blank spot on the SD card, where it was not recording. Very frustrating! I haven’t done any updates or anything to my cameras, it just suddenly started doing this. It’s on my SD card as well as, what I get from the cloud with the alerts. If it gives even the text emotion and sends me any alerts!

Frustrated. I cancelled my cam unlimited. Everything works fine on the OG cam now.

No more cloud recordings.. who cares. I get alerts and have continuous SD recording.

Wyze get you act right.

OG cams show 5m recording, but actual time is seconds

I have a couple of OG cameras ans lately, the app will show a 5m recording in the events page, but the actual recorded time is only seconds.

Some other times, it will show the 5m record in events page, but when you open it, it’s just a photo.

Both cameras I had removed from my account, reset the cameras, re added to my account and firmware is up to date.

Any ideas?

Im so frustrated with Wyze. Reported this in December. Its now February and the camera is as useless as ever. Ive moved it to backup position at front door as its not reliable as primary camera a V3

I have a dozen different wyze cams so cancelling Unlimited Cam coverage isnt an option. No way to disable one camera. OG cams are useless. I regret recommending them to my friends.

*Just got an email from support, asking me to check camera. ** They said “We also received an update from our team that a fix has been released for your device.”

Sure enough, no gaps on sd card and event times reflect real time and not 5 minutes!

Hopefully this has been fixed for everyone.

“Check your camera”? I’m not understanding. Was there an update available that you applied and then you saw the issues had gone away/fixed? Or “check your camera” to see if the issues had gone away—meaning they’ve done something on their end with the servers?

My guess is that it probably is not specific to particular cams and any OG that uses Cam Plus will see the fix automatically, but we’ll only know if a couple people who did not open tickets with Wyze see the issue resolved as well.

ReneabledSD card recording

The same recording gaps are still happening.

Logs shared but I ticket was opened.

Mine has now lost touch with the SD card completely.

Also Error (code 06) Failed to fetch video from cloud.

Same issues as before. I let the cam run for a couple of hours with event recording set to:

  • Record Events triggered by “motion”
  • Recording preferences set to “all events”
  • Customize detections boxes checked
    • Person, other motion and other sound

Sorry to say, this is not fixed at least not for me. Same conditions and issues as ever. False 5 minute clips and gaps in the SD card timeline with “no video available at this time” message when attempting to “go to SD card” from a cloud event playback screen.. Screen grabs below:

What firmware version does your cam report, curious if they pushed out a new one to it (they’ve done that in the past for the OGs but only to people who asked for it, then it became part of the next firmware update).

That’s the app. The camera firmware will be listed under the cam settings.
