Wonder if it is as simple as removing and reinserting the card to force the cam to re-index the files and folders.
Did you happen to format it while it was out?

Here’s a summary of my 2 OG’s behaviour today.
mail delivery - both the driveway and front porch cameras missed the mailman. There was no notification, no event upload as if nothing happened. However there was a gap on the sd cards at around the same time.
kids returning from school - driveway cam caught them and uploaded a 11 sec video. the phone app got a notification. However the 11 sec video doesn’t cover the entire event and on the app it shows the video is 5 min long ( which is obviously incorrect). On the sd card, there is a gap where the period the event video was uploaded,
kid picked up mail at the front porch - full video of event (20 sec) uploaded and notification on app received. App shows the video is 20sec long. NO gap on sd card and everything worked normally. ![]()
driving out for appointment - video uploaded (albeit not the full event) and app again showed it is for 5 min when it is only 3 seconds. Notification received. Gap on sd card where video was uploaded.
driving home - 13 sec video uploaded and notification received when the car entered the driveway. App showing the video is 13 sec (surprise surprise). Gap on sd card.
Interestingly, another 3 sec video was uploaded and notification received for the time when I drove the car into the garage. App showing video is 5min long when in fact it is only 3 sec. Gap on sd card.
It’s really hit and miss. There is no definite pattern of the problems.
No I didn’t format it when I removed it. Will plug in and test / check my other OG tomorrow to see if it’s corrected itself without removing sd card.
Oh yes many of the OG events on my cameras also show as 5 minutes when they are less than 15 seconds.
Your symptoms (other than the gaps and the 5 minute thing, which may be both related to the bug being discussed here) sound like connectivity issues
Same issues happening on OG overnight. Events on unlimited CamPlus create gaps on sd card. Will have to create a ticket for it today.
Wyze ticket 4733855
Log # 2153890
Got email response from support with a list of things to do. All confirmed and completed as directed. Was ok overnight until 8:51am when gap appeared in sd card and a 5 min (25 sec event) event recorded.
So still not corrected.
I have had the exact same issues across the board. This is 100% on their end. I will call and create a ticket and will reference yours. Thank you.
Support tickets are helpful for this issue. ![]()
Same issues as of around 05 January. Condition has progressively gotten worse over the past 24h.
Ticket # 2155670 … being escalated. Should find out today. Will keep you posted.
I had a ticket created (4735234). Made a reference to this thread and advised agent that in my 4+ years with various Wyze cams, all issues have been server-side and for that reason, I would wait it out before climbing the ladder in the rain to reset and re install as new, my OG cam.
I’ve seen choppy stream or even total freeze of live streaming when an event is being captured, during this problem period.
I cut the support guy when he started going off on a troubleshooting checklist. I referenced the ticket here, told them it’s a backend issue.
I been receiving emails from support person. I’ve given her the 3 other ticket numbers you’ve logged in addition to my Ticket # 4733855.

Update from Wyze Support on 1/11/26
To answer your question, we have not yet checked with our engineers prior to sending the previous email. Our intention was to first make sure that all necessary troubleshooting steps were covered on your end, so we could provide them with complete and accurate information for investigation.
That said, no worries at all. We will now coordinate with our engineering team to further investigate this issue on the backend, especially considering your observations about the event recordings, livestream interruptions, and SD card behavior after motion detection.
I hate when offshore support says “no worries” or “rest assured”. My experience is that you should be worried and not at all assured ![]()
Confirming that trouble with the event clips and SD timeline gaps include a “5 min” recorded clip event when in reality they are on average about 3 sec.
Has anyone tried removing the Cam Plus (switching service to an alternate camera) and running their OG native with image events and SD review with no cloud storage/upload? This might isolate enough to where you could observe whether triggered events are recorded error free to the card with no freezing or gaps in the SD card timeline.
Yes I believe what you describe is what I’ve done. … I turned off any uploads on all my OG cameras in 3 different locations to the cloud and set the SD card to continuously record until they fix the issue on the backend. All OG cams have been recording to the sd card without interruption. They haven’t gotten back to me so I figure they are still working on it.
