Just an observation, might help with someone who runs into this.
I have an OG in a temporary spot, the SD card in it has a known bad spot. As long as I remember to format it every morning, it captures the days video. But a couple times I’ve forgotten and get the “sd card has an issue” message (no notification like someone else has mentioned, I have to go into the cam to see it). BUT, whenever that happens, notifications stop working on the cam. They’re enabled, events are being logged, but even after formatting the card, rebooting the camera, resetting services, confirming notifications are on (even toggling them off and back on), they will not start working again without deleting the cam and re-adding it.
Not an issue for me, I don’t really need notifications for this purpose, and I could dig out a good SD card and swap it if I did, but worth noting, not sure if it affects other cams, but if notifications aren’t working on your cam, did you have an SD card error at some point around that same time? If so, this might be the issue…
Interestingly, I just let it go and didn’t bother with it since I didn’t need notifications.
This morning they started working again. I do have an automation that turns off notifications at night for several cams including that one, then back on in the morning, so maybe enough of those triggers finally wakes it up.
This is repeatable, it happens every time the SD card throws an error. But this is the first time (so far) it has come back on its own, but I probably haven’t waited 4 days before.
I think you are forgetting one very important thing that notifications and automations are heavily dependent on Wyze servers, so any glitch on those servers will throw a fit on notifications and automations.
Understood, but in this case I’ve correlated the failed SD card message to the multi-day notification outage at least 4 times (where my other OGs keep notifying fine, and they all use the same automations etc).
This seems to be a “bonus glitch” above and beyond any server ones
