Nothing is safe

I got a letter today regarding another Data Breach. This time it was from a firm that manages Dermatology firms. I go to a national well know firm, I’ve been to the skin quacks seven times for Basal Cell carcinoma , face cut four times, forehead once, nose once, right ear once. They may have gotten all my personal information but they didn’t get and financial/ credit information because I never have to pay and they don’t know how many :raccoon: :raccoon: come to visit.
Internet and hackers are evil. yes I am still a handsome old fart.

This is sad, it is becoming more of a nightmare. With AI on the rise, it is getting harder to track or mitigate.

Hope you are doing well…

Is that what the :raccoon::raccoon: tell you?

You’re not getting any younger, unless your name is Antonius. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

You may want to consider Freezing your credit with the three main credit reporting bureaus. You don’t want bad people trying to open credit in your name.

That advice was also included in the letter.

You generally hear about Equifax, Experian and TransUnion being the 3 main credit reporting bureaus. Do a search for Innovis which is considered the 4th major credit reporting bureau.

I have a credit freeze with all 4 companies. Being retired companies rarely need to run a credit check on me. The plus is I never receive any credit card application solicitations in the mail.

A credit Freeze with the above 4 companies is free and you can unfreeze when needed.

A credit Lock sometimes comes with a fee.

I got the same letter from my Dermatologist’s office. Nothing is safe anymore.

The letter I received was from DermCare Management. They didn’t offer me any free credit monitoring, just advice on credit freeze and credit reports.

I received this email from my local dermatology office:

Notice of Class Action Settlement

IF YOU RECEIVED THIS NOTICE, YOU HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AS an Individual WHOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION may have been affected by A DATA SECURITY INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED BETWEEN FEBRUARY 14, 2025, AND MAY 13, 2025

@antonius We need to meet for a meal and discuss our ailments, just like we used to joke about the old farts when we were much younger.

You might say I am the opposite of paranoid. So what if they have my info. Everything is monitored so it will take perseverance to hack me and MrsG MrsG MrsG. We got a thing going on…

I just sent my Skin Quack firm (Berman Skin Institute) a “Nasty Gram” email because their web site states all information is confidential and will not be shared with anyone. I just did it because I am a grumpy old man.
