First, is there a film over the sensor or light panels that I need to remove?
It seems that the sensor is recessed, which limits it’s ability to detect motion.
My one sensor that is waist high and facing out picks up motion efficiently.
Another is 6ft high, facing down. It is in the kitchen. I replaced a inexpensive LED sensor light that would pick up movement 10 feet plus away. The sensor on that is inside a dome shaped “cockpit” lens so has more exposure.
The 3rd one is on a bathroom mirror, also about 6’ high, but facing put. It struggles in the dark of night to sense movement My inexpensive one would sense movement of the door was cracked a few inches.
The extra battery life is meaningless if the sensors are not capable of picking up motion efficiently
