Never mind - Sorry I wasted anyone’s time looking for help. I had forgotten these boards are more for trashing then helping.
Sounds like you are making it far more complicated than required.
Install the app on the phone
Press the big plus sign to add your camera
Select the correct options (what type of device)
Camera should be working.
Subscription not required to get the camera working.

In fairness I understand the new app versions are pretty aggressive in pushing the optional CamPlus service, which could certainly confuse a person. But @K6CCC is correct.
