The .49 firmware fixed the SD card slot on two of my Wyze Cam V2’s.
I have two V2 with exactly the same SD card (same brand, same size, same manufacturing batch). With .41 firmware, one of my V2 doesn’t recognize SD card while working, but it can be updated using that SD card. The other one randomly shows Error 90, and stuck on formatting SD.
After updating to .49, both V2 recognize SD card, and they can format SD without any problem.
I’m using Synology Surveillance Station. Connection is solid. The only problem is RTSP stopped working right after firmware update, and I had to turn off RTSP for a while and turn it back on. After that, everything started working again.
Hello All,
I have seen mention of a “.50” and a “,51” firmware revision, however, I see no link nor URL for its download location - only “.49” is available! Are there really updates to the RTSP firmware for the V2 and PanCam, if so, where can I download the, from?
I’ll create a new posting to ask about some strange behavior with my PanCam running “.49” RTSP firmware in comparison to my V2’s running the same level and not exhibiting the same issues!
I’ve been using the demo_4.28.4.51.bin RTSP firmware and I have had no issues. I cannot thank Wyze enough for this! Great work and what an awesome product!
When I switched my connection for ffmpeg to use tcp instead of the default udp, I haven’t had the issue where the server runs itself into the ground by not closing out streams. So the stream closing issue seems to be related to the udp connection.
@WyzeTao Hi there! Do you have any advice on how to get the Pan cam to boot to flash? We have 4 v2 cams that all have the RTSP firmware installed with zero problems. However, we have 2 pan cams that I have not been able to flash. Its been ongoing for about a year. I have essentially given up on flashing RTSP to them (I see others in this thread have similar issues). Just curious if you had any suggestions.
To my knowledge, the flashing process is exactly the same as v2. Obviously it doesn’t work the same on your side. I wonder if it is hardware related. Does your Pan read/write SD card well with recordings?
A few people succeeded to flash after they did a ‘slow’ format on SD card. You can give it a try. I assume you have tried different SD cards but not work. That is the two thoughts I have.
Thank you for the reply.
I followed the advice of @dzkahn and did the official SD card formater, as well as a ‘slow’ format, and to no avail. The SD does read/write to the SD card. I tried this on both of my pan cams, and both failed. I just tried to update one of the v2 I have, and it was successful.
I’ve had them running very stably on this beta software in BI for 3 weeks now. They still dropout from time to time, but it’s WAY better than it was. It also recovers on it’s own now, which is the bigger improvement.
Sort of related: I couldn’t update the regular firmware (not rtsp) manually on my v3 until I used the official SD card formatter set to overwrite format.
I can’t get this to install. The v2 cam has v4.9.6.241 currently. I’ve put the demo.bin file from 4.28.4.49 firmware. I put the the microSD card in, hold the setup button and plugin the power. The LED is yellow for a bout 15 - 20 seconds, then it turns blue for a split second then yellow and says “Ready to connect”. I’ve continued holding the setup button for a couple of minutes, but the LED never turns a solid blue.
I’ve tried with the camera already configured on my account and after it’s be reset. Ideas?
Sounds most likely that you don’t have the reset button fully depressed. Try using an implement like a small screwdriver to push it during the power cycle.
Yes, definitely feel and hear it click. It is difficult to press while plugging in the cable but I’ve done it about 10 different times so far.
It never has both LEDs on. While holding the setup button, orange at first, if already configured on my account then it goes to blue for a split second then orange then “Ready to connect”. If it’s no configured, I don’t ever get a blue LED while holding the setup button.
i’ve tried timing it to release immediately when I see blue, but it always goes to orange then “Ready to connect”.
can you try using a different microSD card? Maybe the V2 is not finding the demo.bin file for some reason. Format another card and put a new demo.bin in root folder.
All, got it to work! All of the cards I had were 32GB and 64GB. Tried an older 16GB that I had laying around and it worked perfect. Thanks for your help!
