New color bulbs are not producing the same color as older bulbs

Hello,

I just received a shipment of new color bulbs to add to my set up. I instantly noticed different packaging and had a funny feeling…

The new color bulbs are not the same model as my existing Wyze color bulbs. The new bulbs are model WLPA19CV2 while my the rest of my house has model WLPA19C.

The v2 bulbs are not producing the same color as the v1 bulbs by an easily noticeable difference. I have updated the firmware on all bulbs. I am currently using the android beta 3 v2 app.

The new bulbs are more compact which is neat, but I wonder how they will do with heat as I’ve noticed the v1 gets quite hot.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the v2 to produce the same colors?

I have v1 and v2 in a lighting group so I know it should be the same color produced.

I noticed that too. I like that the v2 is true to A19 bulb size compared to oversized v1. The v2’s red and green is better, but v2’s blue is off compared to v1. I’m having no issues with v2 overheating.

Im glad to hear the smaller (apparently correct sized) form factor does not overheat!

As I’ve been playing around with colors the last few minutes I agree with your sentiment:

The best place to address this would be in fix it Friday right?

Yes, you can add it to Fix-it-Friday. Although it may be a hardware limitation.
