Just want to chime in here and add one more request to add support for accessing the SD card storage on cameras like the Solar Cam Pan via SMB or even FTP or some kind of network protocol that would allow access to the video files from a computer/device on the LAN.
This would be a relatively easy feature to add, so given that this request was originally made several years ago and there are almost 600 posts on this thread and over 1200 votes for this feature, it seems that despite the interest by customers, Wyze seems intent on not implementing this, which is too bad. Competitors are starting to offer these kinds of features to allow customers to access and store video files on their own LAN devices. I hope Wyze wises up and adds this functionality.
Wyze homebase for camera storage
I am one of the original OG that bought the very first Wyze Cam and Products.. I remember Wyze’s vision was to make the best affordable cameras and have no subscriptions. Obviously that has changed. What I am hoping is that Wyze will have a homebase for storing all of your cameras and doorbells footage to one local homebase. Like Eufy does for all their cameras and doorbells. This way if a camera is stolen, you don’t lose all your footage as well as your camera. This way we can access from the wyze app all of your footage on a local Wyze home base (like a NVR). Please Wyze make this happen so we have the option for cloud storage some or for most of us from the beginning who supported a company they wanted to see grow, because they had no monthly fees. Please have a better local storage option for us soon. Thank you.
