Need wireless basic outdoor camera

Hi. I have a small outdoor pond and a “critter” is eating my goldfish. I need a small camera –wireless– to see if i can catch them in the act. ( at least I will know) I bought a wired one but it can’t be plugged in.

Thanks!

Battery Cam Pro is the only wireless cam currently offered by Wyze and should fit the bill very well, as long as it is within range of your wifi. Add a solar panel to extend the battery life if you want.

From experience, often birds during the day or any number of scavengers at night (including neighborhood cats). Unfortunately you may need to resort to the black netting over the top, but when done right it does not detract much from the look of the pond at all, especially if you can get it stretched tight just under the surface of the water.

Using the siren on the BCP (or even the spotlight or “you are being recorded” announcement, or combinations) might work to scare whatever it is away, at least for a while. All of them can be automatically triggered with motion, but you’d probably want to get your detection zone, sensitivity, etc tweaked right so you aren’t getting false alerts before enabling stuff like that.

You could try Cam Plus (30 day trial, then paid) to see if “pet detection” would pick up whatever it is. That way it would only turn on the siren (or whatever you choose) when it is a confirmed animal and not just a leaf blowing by etc. But YMMV, seems certain wildlife does get detected as a pet, others do not.
