Is there ever going to be a good answer on how to keep continuous connections using Windows based PC for monitoring? I’ve tried all the answers from Wyze and nothing changes. You bring up a camera(s) on My.wyze.com/live, some may stay connected for a minute or 2, then go in to reconnect. Sometimes they reconnect, but not very often. You have to force a refresh and start all over.
I think the only real answer is dump all Wyze cameras and install a commerical system.
Depending on what you’re trying to do, I wonder if RTSP would be your solution. I see that you tagged your topic for Cam v3, and that’s one of the models that now has a public beta firmware available that’s RTSP capable.
Most likely your router has something like a 2 minute timeout on UDP (or really any firewall in the path could have that).
There are people here that leave it up all day with no issues, so either something is timing out on your end, or maybe the internet where the cams are located is having signal/bandwidth issues trying to keep up.
If you need that sort of system, then yes, you’re talking about two totally different scenarios. Wyze cams are for convenience and some amount of security/deterrence, a true security/commercial system is for when it is a critical system you have to rely on.
Check out Reolink cameras, the 4k are pricey but good.
Reolink 2k is better than any Wyze and closer in price, especially when factoring in the subscription.
Reolink does not force a subscription to unhobble the camera like Wyze
With the Reolink Client app on a PC it will run continuously without needing a restart, and if you unplug the camera and plug it back in it starts right back up without intervention
Multiple layouts for multi-view and they can be easily arranged to suit the needs.
