I have four v4 cameras outside. I have the sensitivity set to 1 and my app version is 3.14.0.807 (Android)
Way too many alerts. I have set “motion tagging” which is supposed to have a blue box around the motion, but most of my alerts are static pictures (no motion)

While the Motion Tagging setting does place green box overlays on the videos to indicate where in the field of view motion was detected, and it’s helpful to know that, I don’t see any indication of whether or not you’re using a subscription or recording to microSD or what other options you’ve selected in the Detection Settings and Event Recording sections of your Settings. Those are the areas where you probably want to make changes if you’re trying to reduce unwanted notifications.
If the static images you’re describing indicate only event snapshots on the app’s Events tab or in Recent Events on a Cam’s Live Stream screen, then that may be a consequence of operating without a subscription, which is why I mentioned microSD recording above.
If you want to share some additional details about the settings you’re using and what you’re trying to accomplish, then that information can help other community members who wish to provide assistance.

Good to know about the microSD card recording, so you should be able to see event videos from the card by navigating to that part of the UI in the app, which you can get to in two different ways:
That still doesn’t address your “too many alerts” issue, and for that it would be important to know more about your settings, as mentioned above. Screenshots can be especially helpful for this.
You’re going to want to make use of Detection Zone to block out stuff that moves that you don’t care about (trees, etc). You likely do not want to leave it set to 1 sensitivity as you’re going to miss valid things that way.
Camera placement and angle can help too, and I have a rule to disable alerts from like 9PM to 8AM on my front door one so I don’t get notifications of headlights (there is an intersection near me and the turning lights will trigger it).
The motion tagging box (green by the way, not blue) sometimes shows up in the still frame and sometimes not, but you should see it on the recorded video always. In my case I’d say it is almost always in the still frame, but I have a pretty specific detection zone set, which may somehow impact it. Also could be related to timing, how long the motion lasts, how quickly it uploads to Wyze, etc.
But yes it is operating as designed, if you don’t use the “Smart Detections” (subscription required) then you need to do a bit more tweaking. I run with no subscription and just an SD card and have gotten it tuned pretty well. Even if you have a subscription, I’d want to run an SD card with continuous recording as a backup.

I agree with @StevenA’s answer and screenshot. Even though I’m using System Default Theme (which for me is dark), the Continuous option I’ve selected is the button with the black text on a white button/toggle background. The deselected Events Only appears to me as dark grey text on a lighter grey background.
