My bat cam pro does not record motion events while installed on dash in car while in parking lot. Please help

Bat CAM pro doesn’t record motion events while on dashboard of car in parking lot.

Question, do you have Cam Plus or another Camera Service? If not it will only record for a short period of time and then sleep for 5 minutes, I believe.

If you are saying that it is not recording, where are you looking? Without Cam Plus, the event section will not show any events and will, or should provide, an image. If you have an SD Card in it, you can tap on the SD Card and scroll through any events that may be on the card.

With that said,

Can you provide information on what your settings are for the following Setting Menus:

  • Detection Settings
  • Event Recording
  • Notifications

Detection settings range 30ft. Sensitivity 4. Event recording all motion events. Notifications on. I do not have a paid or subscription service. I read somewhere that the camera doesn’t detect motion through the windshield therefore a waste of time and money.

Is that because it’s behind glass, so that’s blocking the PIR? That’d be my guess.

After I wrote that, I found this:

Note: Since Wyze Battery Cam Pro uses a mixture of PIR and radar, this means that motion detection will not trigger if the camera is behind glass, looking out of a window, or is installed in a third-party case.
