Local API Feature

I currently have a bunch of Wyze products in my current home. I’m building a new house and want to fully automate that house. Prior to my switch to Wyze I had another company that went out of business which basically meant all my stuff i bought from them is useless. More and more companies are bricking bought and paid for devices because they remove cloud services or start charging crazy subscription fees that weren’t in the original TOS.

I absolutely love Wyze, but I want to pick a company for my new house that supports local API integrations so I won’t ever have to deal with bricked devices again.

Does Wyze have any plans on introducing local API integration instead of using Wyze servers exclusively.

Wyze already has an API. But they broke it. :frowning:

But even if they fix it, it still requires server authentication to work.

Look to home assistant. You can find many sensors, switches, plugs, bulbs that work without the cloud. You should be able to find cameras, like Amcrest, that have capabilities similar to Wyze, without the need for the internet.
