LiDar-guided laser pest control in a Wyze cam

I would like to get this type of system in a Wyze cam or drone. With improvements in laser technology, this could be very useful. Maybe even put lasers on robo vacuums to attack household pests. I thought of adding this to the wishlist section, but it is a bit different than a usual request.

This device uses a laser to shoot down 30 mosquitoes per second — LiDAR-guided ‘Photonmatrix’ has up to 6-meter kill zone, can gauge distance, orientation, and body size in 3 milliseconds | Tom’s Hardware This device uses a laser to shoot down 30 mosquitoes per second — LiDAR-guided 'Photonmatrix' has up to 6-meter kill zone, can gauge distance, orientation, and body size in 3 milliseconds | Tom's Hardware

I mentioned this here:

CMO Wyze co-founder Dave saw it, and said he loves it but doesn’t see them putting it on the roadmap anytime soon.

Thanks @carverofchoice . Sorry I missed your post earlier.

The second video is even better.

Seriously, if you are planning to go outside with the skeeters, take a few dryer sheets and put one in your shoe and the other in your shirt pocket. Almost guarantee they will leave you alone.

It’s the beginning of skynet when these lasers are mounted on drones.

I saw an article that post office delivery workers have started putting Dryer sheets in people’s mailboxes because it keeps the wasps (and other insects) away from them. Apparently they mostly put them in high risk mailboxes that commonly collect wasps. I thought that was interesting.

I started making my own Wasp repellent spray. The main critical ingredients are Essential oils of Lemongrass, Peppermint, and Clove and water. That’s what I’ve been using most of the time as soon as I start seeing any Wasps. I spray that around the house and they disappear for weeks.

Lately I’ve been adding an emulsifier like Unscented Liquid Castile Soap, to help the oils mix with the water better (also some witch Hazel to help spread them more evenly and it also helps repel other insects as well as the wasps, and makes it last longer without being greasy). I also often add Glycerin as a fixative lately to make it last longer. Sometimes I also add Fractionate Coconut Oil for a longevity boost.

I tell you, this concoction actually works. As soon as I notice any wasps started building a nest near my house, I go spray this stuff everywhere, all around my house, but especially all around near their hive, and they all abandon it. I don’t see Wasps for weeks. I wait until I start seeing some again and then just make a new batch. It also keeps away a ton of other bugs. It’s been awesome. Sometimes I will just go spray a new batch the day before or the day of some kind of planned get-together or pool party at my house. It makes an obvious huge difference.

How did I come up with all? I just spent a while hashing it out with AI, and lo and behold, it actually works! It seems to be keeping the mosquitos away too. I usually have a ton of mosquitos, but rarely see them this year since I started using these essential oils (which I now just buy in bulk off Amazon).

But I would still buy one of these for fun if they weren’t $500!!! :exploding_head:

Meh, no worries. I just thought I would mention that one of the cofounders knew of this.

Agreed, though I liked the “double-tap” execution of the same mosquito in the first video. The new one in an outdoor setting is cool.
