Is there a wireless camera that will work from inside taking outside video through a double-paned window?

Looking for a wireless camera that will take outside motion-detection video night and day from inside a double-paned window.

The battery powered cams use PIR which doesn’t work through windows.

I have to plug in powered cams V3 and V4 looking out windows and they record everything.

Welcome to the Forum, @samdog!

I was thinking the same thing @Antonius mentioned when I saw that you’d tagged your topic for Battery Cam Pro. That’s not going to work through a window because of the PIR.

If you’re able to plug a Cam into AC (Wyze calls these Cams “wired” and their battery powered Cams “wireless” even though all of them use Wi-Fi for wireless communication; I’m not sure what context you’re using for “wireless”, but that’s how Wyze makes the distinction), then would something like Window Cam work? This is an example of what I can see from one:

I use Wyze Cam v3 cameras aimed through double pane windows and am satisfied with the results. I leave Record Sounds Off since they are inside.

Mount your cameras as close to your windows as possible to reduce double pane reflections. Most of my windows have AC outlets below, so my wired v3 cameras plug into AC with just the Wyze supplied cords and power adapters.

Notice the top 2 pictures have more reflection artifacts than the bottom pictures.

Also, my cameras work best in dark rooms. Here is a video I saved from December 2023 when my wife was putting a lighted star on our tree.

Just a note for y’all: I’m using my OG through a double paned window as well. The window mount accessory was always out of stock so I got creative and stuck it in the window just to see what would happen. I do have the camera between blackout curtains and the window so as far as my OG knows the room is dark all the time. It works perfectly with clear video, night or day. The only drawback is that you can’t use sound . If you turn the mic on all you’re going to get is an obnoxious squealing sound. Not a problem for me.I just want to see who or what is out there.:woman_shrugging:t2::joy:

Here are more threads on aiming through windows if anyone is interested.
