Just wonderingnif there is a way to get notified or anyway you can find out if and when the camera loses power. I think one of the kids unplugs it to sneak out.
Yes, it is built into the app - enabled by default under notifications I believe?
It just tells you if it loses connectivity to the cam, could be due to power, could be an internet issue, etc.
In toying around with it I found the amount of time to be between 5 and 15 minutes before it notifies you, guess they want to make sure it isn’t a brief hit. Once back online the notification is pretty quick.
Maybe consider an App like this.
Knowing where your kid is at might be more valuable than just knowing who unplugged your camera.
It is a bit buried, so here is the path: Account > Notifications > Push Notifications > Device Connectivity Notifications (Pilot) > Select which devices to receive the notification for.
Note that this turns on all notifications for that camera, so if all you want is the connectivity, you now need to turn off all the rest - a royal pain if you have very many cameras!
Mine had them all enabled by default but I also have notifications enabled on all my cams (but most of them do not have motion or sound enabled, it is just on for device status and smoke/co alarms).
I do have one cam that disables notifications from like midnight to 8AM so obviously I wouldn’t know if someone messed with that one.
EDIT - Yeah looking at it again, I can see how it would be confusing for people. Back when I realized Smoke/CO alarms needed notifications on, I went through and enabled notifications on all cams, but then disabled “motion” notifications in the granular settings for ones I did not want notifications (other than alarms) on. I don’t log sound events so didn’t need to uncheck that, but people who do have sound events enabled probably want to uncheck that also.
I think when I was testing it, I confirmed that you do not need sound notifications on for the Smoke/CO alerts to work. Would have to dig up that thread to confirm, but since I do not have sound events enabled, I left them all on just in case.
