Image freezing when trying to view events video


Since upgrading all my cam firmware and updating to the latest Wyze version (which I should avoid again), I can’t view events video anymore. All I get when I try is a frozen image (see picture included if that worked) This is for all my 4 cams. Tried the usual, clear cache, clear data, uninstall, re-install, restart the tablet to no avail. It works fine on my Samsung Android 8 phone but it doesn’t work on my Samsung Android 10 tablet.

My next step replace those 4 cams with a more reliable solution.

  • Fixed a bug that caused difficulty viewing the live stream with Android 11

Yes, both my phone and tablet are using that latest version.

Finally managed to have it work on my tablet.

Tried the following and it did not work:

  • uninstall and re-install the app (as well as the usual clear cache, clear data, restart the cams, etc)
  • restart the tablet

Strange but what worked:

  • uninstall the app, restart the tablet, re-install the app, in this order



That is super @FWM You have the solution!

Restarting between uninstall and reinstall also flushed out the application still stuck in memory. Sometimes a power off, restart is needed to be sure.


Also, in the future try clearing the cache in the Wyze app.
