Hard sell, eh? :face_with_monocle:

I had a v2 slung under a window ac housing in an especially driving rain, no special protection. It failed, short-term, but I shook it out and put it in my cotton sock drawer for a couple of months then it was right back to work. Quite a trooper. :+1:

Wow, what an interesting background and career. More than just a pretty sweater.

I haven’t thrown it away. I’ll give it a few days and try it again.

Ida thought you would…

I had the same thing happen to my pan cam, just not due to Ida. I opened it up, dried it out for a week, looked for any rust or corrosion, and after putting it back together it worked just fine!

Put it in Silica Gel Desiccant Beads to dry it out.
Use Dielectric grease to seal out moisture to begin with.

I have been carrying the same experiment at lat 5, longitude 0 and so far, 2 WYZE CAM Pan in nice silicone vests have died. The longest was 9 months outside in the heat and rain. Knowing their flakiness I have two spares.

I tried everything to resuscitate: - new firmware, - reboot - etc
No such luck.

Mine won’t even power on to try reinstalling firmware.

Ghana or ona boat?

Ghana, for real. Quietly been carrying out the WYZE experiments on cameras sitting outside.
Cam 2 is under the balcony so no worries about moisture and direct sunlight, has been working like a nice cam now for 365 days.
