I will nothave cell service on my phone to receive notifications, does the CAM OG still upload events to the cloud on a CAM PLUS subscription and on a different operating network?

I don’t have an SD card yet. Can I trust the CAM OG to send events to the Cloud? Do I have to click on “Record” before I leave home? Does my phone have to be nearby for events to go to the cloud (It will be on the same network as the camera)? Sorry if this all sounds stupid, but I’m a little confused by what the camera can and can’t do.

Yes events will still be uploaded to the cloud. The record button is for manually recording live view to the SD card in the cam if you had one. Do not turn it on. Just leave your camera as it is now if it is currently detecting events and uploading them to the cloud.
Can’t use just use Wi-Fi on your phone if no cell? There are many places to get free public Wi-Fi. I personally do not use any free/public Wi-Fi with a VPN turned on.

I’m cautious about using free WiFi not connected to a business. And you’re right to have a VPN, too. I’ll consider that Thank you very much for responding, it has helped to clarify.

Cloud events only keep for 14 days. So make sure to check/download them.

Here are my results from last night: I put my phone in airplane mode and stuck it in my bag. The camera was on. When I checked this morning, my app showed me leaving my home and coming back to pick something up I had forgotten. There was also a sound blip later, not much of anything. It showed me re-entering my home an hour later with another person. This showed in the phone app this morning, I didn’t need to go to the Cloud to retrieve it.

That was the livingroom. As an experiment, I had a digital recorder going in the bedroom with the door closed. There were loud sounds of a door opening and closing and other sounds. However, I know that sound carries through my bedroom ceiling and often sounds as if in my bedroom, and the same thing happens in my livingroom, the sounds above me are very loud, footsteps, scrapes, etc. So the camera will only pick up so much. (Audio sensitivity was set at highest, I recommend you do the same if you want ok sound) It does the job, generally speaking. I’ll check the Cloud and see if event uploads were successful.
