I have never owned a battery Cam , yet they shut down my Portal P.C. view to stop battery drain?

Continuing the discussion from Just got an email about app update:

And as in past new app updates , things are now worse than ever , first , I am a user with 2 paid cam+ subscriptions which worked fine most times , except for occasional 3 second videos from an OG cam with Cam+ , nothing I could not live with . Then I learned nearly 2 yrs ago that not updating was the best option , I actually went back to previous app releases and refused updates …until now . Big Mistake !

My Wyze portal view on P.C. now gets shut down with a message saying we stopped your view because it will drain the battery on your battery Cam ? I HAVE NEVER OWNED A BATTERY CAM , NOR DO I WANT TO ! I’ve had enough of this substandard update app already . How do I go back to a working and friendly version . Or , maybe a better way to say this IS…I have a Cam+ yearly subscription cost coming up soon , just cancel it if i can’t view my camera’s at my leisure .

If that’s happening while you’re streaming your Cam OGs in Web View, then I believe that’s a known issue, and you can contribute to discussion about that here, if you wish:

I’ve been able to reproduce it in the past, and reported that to Wyze, but then I got sidetracked by other things. (Like you said, it’s nothing I couldn’t live with.) I haven’t really been monitoring that issue very closely, but I don’t recall seeing that Wyze has resolved it, so it’s probably still happening.

I’d be interested in learning what message you’re seeing. If I was seeing something like that while trying to stream Cams in Web View, then I’d be inclined to capture a screenshot, open a ticket with Wyze Support, and submit that image along with a detailed description of your experience and maybe an app log (though I’m not sure what a log would show except that you’re not using Battery Cam Pro?). If the portal is giving you totally erroneous messages, then they need to know about it so they can try to fix that.

Only happened once so I am feeling better about recent app update , I’m not apologizing for my attitude on this topic , there’s been a history of failed updates and I have lived through the inconvenience and lost hours , even gone back to so-called last successful updates and changed my whole approach to android Play Store updates across all my apps because of the Wyze failures .

Meantime , I am going to sign out here and carry on with daily life . Thanks for the attention guys .
