I feel exposed!

Had to take 14 of the cameras off the house today. The new house siding project started today. I still have the Floodlight V2 up and the V1 Doorbell. But when my Wyze Week prize package arrives, I plan on upgrading to the new Battery Doorbell. @WyzeJasonJ Hint Hint

I can relate to this. It’s interesting that some neighbors or visitors when they’re at our house assume that I see everything they do or did. For example, some of the neighbor kids from across the street will come to play with my kids, and they will go stand in front of one of the cameras and say and do silly things thinking that I am going to see it, and then they will ask me later what I thought about them being silly on the camera and I had no idea because I don’t usually check for frivolous things or to know everything that’s always going on. I really only check when there is something important or abnormal. Maybe I noticed something broken, and then want to see what happened. Or maybe if my kids are crying and screaming at each other and giving conflicting stories about what happened, Or in some cases if I know someone said or did something funny unexpectedly and I want to save that memory. But way more than 99% of things that happen I never see or know about. But it is reassuring to know that there is a recording to fall back on if it’s needed. It’s kind of peace of mind insurance. So not having the cameras up would definitely make me feel… I don’t know… Maybe exposed is the right word, but I’m sure there are a dozen other things that would apply too. Even if I’m confident that I will be safe, and I probably wouldn’t look at most of the videos anyway, it still just doesn’t quite feel right not to have the camera events accessible for an extended period of time.

Have you tried using some of your cameras inside looking out? Might be an interesting experiment during your siding project. All of my Cam v3 cameras are aimed through double pane windows.

As a matter of fact I have. There are 2 V3s pointed out and a V4. But one of the V3s will need to be shut down. It is looking out a front window that will be removed and replaced next week.

Here is the V4 view.

As @carverofchoice pointed out, I was the lucky Wyze Forum Wyze Week Winner. Based on the tracking number Jason gave me, the prize box should be here next week.

After the new siding is all installed and the project is completed, I’ll start putting cameras back up. I may not put everything up right away.

That works out great for you. Just after it’s time to start putting things back up, you’ll have your new prize bundle and can decide to rearrange some things.

I’m excited that the prize was won by one of the forum regulars. And a good guy. Karma choose Wyzely

It’s true, I have limited interest in contests, but I have good interest in @mvb (one of the menschiest guys on the board) and I like to see him win! Woohoo!

Well thanks, Peep! Right back at you.

It’s hard to believe I’ve been reading and writing posts on the Wyze Forum for over 7 years. I’m looking forward to many more.
