Such a good dog, staying out of the garden. The squirrel probably does this on purpose, running back and forth behind the safety of the garden wall just to taunt its nemesis. Did it return to retrieve its prize? That apple (I think) looked like a sizable haul that it tried to take before dropping the dead weight to escape the predator. ---

I got frustrated with the kludginess of trying to find the footage on the SD card of when the apple disappeared, the camera kept losing connection as I attempted to find who eventually took the apple (could of been a coyote) It was surprising to see it was a squirrel that took the two apples. (we occasionally will toss an apple or two out for the ‘local’ coyotes) The hawk actually returned six minutes later, landing near the block wall and waited there for about two minutes before giving up on waiting for the squirrel to make another appearance.) ---
