I want to set a rule to alert me if I have an open window or door when I set the security system to home or away. I find no place to add a rule, only automation which does not appear to me to allow such a rule.

There is no ability to set this type of rule today. However, if memory serves me, this is an existing feature built into HMS, sort of.
When you set the sensors you want associated to Home and away, the system will tell you if contact sensors are open when setting the alarm. I cannot remember if you can bypass or have to close the sensore to proceed to arming.
The system can definitely be armed even with any, and I suppose all, of the sensors open. Personally I think this is a design flaw but based on comments I have seen Wyze doesn’t agree.
There is a way to set notifications on open sensors when one sets Home or Away including a time delay. Right now that is my fallback but it is really not a very good system IMHO. So, when I set the alarm to active if I have left any of the doors open it will let me know after 5 minutes. Best fix I’ve found so far.
