Am I missing something? How can I download videos from [my.wyze.com](http://my.wyze.com)? I can download them from the Android app to my phone but I need them on my PC. I can watch them from any browser in Windows at [my.wyze.com](http://my.wyze.com) but I can’t find a link to actually download them from there. ---

You can’t. The Wyze Web Portal - Wyze Web View Events cannot be downloaded or shared. For that you will need to access the Event Video from within the Events Tab of the App. I would suggest downloading them to your phone and then pushing them to a Web Storage folder like Google Drive. ---

I don’t really know if it is being worked on, but I do know it has already been requested in the Official Wyze #Wishlist, and that topic is marked as In Progress… So they must be working on something. Well, wish I saw this before paying the yearly subscription. For us who can’t really see the detail on a phone, it’s so much hassle when I can literally see the video on the screen but can’t manage it with a keyboard and a mouse which is SO much handier than fumbling on a phone. I’ve found a better local storage set of cameras from Euphy that I think I’ll migrate to. Wyze is great but just seems the UI on the mobile app is lacking and certainly the desktop/web version is so limited in deleting/downloading, etc. Thanks for posting the question and drawing out the answer! ---

Use Internet Download Manager. Gotta click each event to start playback but IDM can then auto download them for you ---

But doesn’t Wyze Web View reduce them to 360P? If so you’re giving up a lot of quality that way (and also re-compressing the video most likely making it even worse). ---

It might do that in group view when the video size is smaller (ie: I can fit up to 20 streams on screen at a time), but I’m pretty sure that it streams in full resolution if you do one camera at a time such as on full screen. ---

Is there a good business reason for Wyze to not allow downloading events from the Wyze portal? The service is pay-walled already. Someone posted that you can try an internet video downloader. You can, if you have the URL, but Wyze hides it. Edit - I see another post by [chrisfarker](https://forums.wyze.com/t/can-i-download-recordings-from-the-cloud-onto-my-laptop/319080/4) to use Internet Download Manager (IDM). I was initially skeptical but I tried it anyway. It does work and I downloaded a 2560x1440 event video. IDM isn’t free though. ---

I know that for livestreams, they were using Amazon Kinesis in a way that costs them money per stream used on the web portal. Perhaps there is something like that for downloads too (besides the obvious cloud bandwidth traffic costs). Having said that, they indicated in the past that they would be allowing downloading from the web portal in a future update, so I mostly assumed they just hadn’t integrated it yet, rather than purposely trying to block it. Even if they enable it I expect they will only allow 1 event at a time just like on the app. ---

I have the same problem downloading an event on my PC. Any event longer than 15 seconds will not download on my iPhone. ---

But the browser isn’t giving you an option to _save_ the stream while displaying it. There are open source utilities that save the stream. However, they are command line utilities and they don’t run on Windows. I know of a least one paid utility that runs on Windows. And that’s how I download clips from Web View. ---

I really don’t like that this ability has not been added to Wyze yet. Why is this a problem or so difficult? I hate doing work on my phone…and working with and saving videos all on the phone is a PITA. ---

I installed IDM, and while it took a little bit of working with it, I utilized the “Categories” to download into a folder named after the Camera I was downloading from on [view.wyze.com](http://view.wyze.com) It’s not ideal, but, it’s the only app I’m aware that will actually download video from [view.wyze.com](http://view.wyze.com). SO much easier and convenient than downloading on my iPhone, just to transfer it to my PC. ---

To add to this, it’s using the torrent style of downloading; it splits large files into chunks and starts multiple concurrent downloads, then reassembles the downloaded chunks. It explains why the download is faster. The software publisher isn’t showcasing this feature on its website. I only realized on my first download.
