Grid selection for Detection Zone removed from V1&V2 cameras

Hi @WyzeDesmond

Could you ask the dev team to take a look at the logs? TY!

So, has anyone gotten a response from Wyze or a resolution to this issue?

Not that I am aware of, my Wyze v2 still suffers from this ā€œUndocumented Featureā€, while a 2nd Wyze V2 Cam does not suffer from the same ailment

I originally posted this because when I had phoned WYZE to ask about it in the first place, they suggested that I post here on this forum with the ā€œhopes that WYZE would then make an update to to fix this issue". So much for that helpful hint. I now think it was a way of ending the call so they could get back to their WYZE coffee break. I’m really losing faith in this company. I was one of their first customers and have quite a few V2 cameras on the ā€œLegacyā€ program. Still have my fingers crossed but if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

I can’t find the screen to set the motion area on my PanCam.

Launch the app. Tap on the camera you want to set the zone for so that you’re seeing the cameras live feed. Tap on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the app and then tap on detection settings and then on detection zone. You can then set the area of the view field you want the camera to react to motion within.

No that just has the rectangle box, no tiles for my V2’s

That’s basically what this whole discussion thread is about. Some people’s v2’s have reverted to just a box (like me) and they no longer have the tiles. Why it’s happening to some but not others is unclear.

Good Evening @WyzeDesmond, can you let us know if there is any updated information on this issue with some v2’s camera’s detection zone settings?

I had purchased one of the original Cam Pan cameras and I recently lost my Tile detection zone. It has reverted to the Rectangle zone. Very disappointing.

This feature was a major reason for my recent purchase of 2 more v4 cameras.
Come on Wyze!

Got it. Thanks! :+1:

I’m not sure what you did … I still have the rectangle thing going on. No Grid tiles - just the rectangle. Very disappointing!!!

It’s been over a month now has anyone got a fix for this issue?

I really don’t want to buy newer cameras when I have cameras that I’ve already purchased. All I want is to be able to have my tile detection zone back. I used to be really proud of this Company and my cameras. I’ve told many people how pleased I was and many of those people purchased WYZE cameras. Now I’m really disappointed in this company when they pull a stunt like this and don’t seem to want to fix it.

Nobody has found a fix for this yet?

I want my grid detection back!

Also, even with the old box detection… I actually have had NO detection at all. It looks like all my settings are correct.

So, still no update on why grid detection is gone?! Disappointing. I’d hoped Wyze would have a bit more respect for its users and at least keep a line of communication open. I guess they’re not gonna fix this or it was done deliberately for some reason. They could just say that instead of going radio silent on this. DO BETTER WYZE!!

I’m so upset! I’ve been using Wyze to keep an eye on the furry devils for a few years now. I had to change the network today, and followed the AI directions to reset all the cameras. When I got them all loaded up, I went to set up the detection zone, and realized that the grid option has disappeared, replaced with a completely useless rectangle option.

Half the areas I’m monitoring have devices - like my litter robots - that have some sort of invisible light coming out of them, and the grid selection was the only way to monitor the devices without having 288 five minute events each day. Every single moment of the day is part of an event now, so I can’t monitor the cats anymore - that’s literally the only reason we have the darned things! This is NOT OK!! I just subscribed to Unlimited a couple months ago, and I can’t believe I’m locked into a plan that Wyze apparently broke and (if this thread is anything to go on) has no interest in fixing. Shame on you, Wyze!!

So, anyone hear anything on this issue? Or is Wyze just going to ignore it and hope we go away? Because I’ll go away all right…I’ll trash my Wyze cam and buy a different brand that’ll do what I want it to do.

I’m guessing Wyze doesn’t even have a V1/V2 camera to test new fixes with.

The way I feel about it is Wyze can have my V-1/V2 cameras back as well as the rest of the cameras because this is doing me no good at all I might just as well get a different brand of cameras to do the job the way it should be done… Very disappointed!

I really thought Wyze was a much better company than this - What a let-down!

It’s sort of can’t believe that Wyze would do this. I have started so many people using Wyze products specifically because of how well they kept up with customer service and issues like this. No I did have this issue in the past where I updated firmware and lost my grids, and then somehow I got them back. But that was years ago. And I am one of the OG people on the Lite plan who does not have to pay a monthly fee, but I opted to actually pay something monthly because I support the company. I feel like this has got to be some kind of an oversight, and they will fix this at some point. But I tend to be an optimistic person.
