It’s also possible that I’m operating with a different definition of “cloud events”. I tend to think of those as events uploaded to Wyze servers and analyzed for AI-enabled detection of specific things (persons, pets, etc.) for subscribers, not the generic sound and motion events that I see in my timeline as a non-subscriber.
Here’s what I see currently in the v3.1.5.569 Android app:
I would swear that I was seeing something different when I would pull out my phone to check things earlier in this discussion, and I can confirm that I updated the app on this phone from v3.0.5.558 to v3.1.5.569 just this morning, so while I agree with @virgietucker31 that something has changed, I’m now thinking that it might be an app change (or a server change) and not a firmware change, but I still don’t know. I’m leaning toward app, somewhere between the v3x versions I mentioned, because this is what I see when I pull up the same view in the v2.50.9.512 Android app:
The tags are there in previous app versions. I can’t speak to v3.1.0.564 because I never installed that one, but I sincerely believe that the tags were there in v3.0.5.558.
I don’t think the LifeHackster video is an apples-to-apples comparison, because I don’t know what app version he was using, and it also appeared that he was doing event (not continuous) recording to microSD, so I don’t know how that might affect tagging (though I wouldn’t expect it to). Nevertheless, I saved it to watch the whole thing later because I ordered another Cam OG and a Cam OG Telephoto just a few days ago.
Edit[1]: I thought showing the screenshots side-by-side might be useful, and I also wanted to add that I’m seeing the same thing (event tags visible in the timeline in the v2.50.9.512 app but not present in the timeline in the v3.1.5.569 app) on a Cam OG with firmware v1.0.84 (my previous testing was on a Cam OG with firmware v1.0.80).
