Getting notifications from cameras that have notifications turned off

I figured out my issue for the moment at least. My offending camera that was giving me notifications was checked, in Notifications, under push notifications. This apparently will over-rule anything else (so it appears).

Turning that off will override whatever settings you have in the cam - so you won’t get any notifications at all.

However if you do want any sort of notifications from the cam (including smoke/co alarm) then you need to turn it on there and then customize it in the cam’s settings to only the ones you want.

Having it on there, but having notifications turned off at the cam level should prevent the cam from sending any notifications, and that’s always been my experience. If that’s not how yours are working, something isn’t working right somewhere…

Pretty much what I figured, and what this thread is about. If I check those boxes, Wyze ignores the turn off notifications, and bombards me with notifications.

Even if you disable notifications completely in the cam’s settings (not individual ones, but the main setting in the camera)?

This seemed to be mostly affecting users of shared cams, are you the main user or a shared user? If you’re a shared user, things are a bit different. They’ve only recently added the ability for shared users to control notifications independently, and not sure if it is totally working or not. In that case yeah you may have to disable them (completely) the way you did.

I just installed a new cam v4 a couple of days ago (Plugin Version 3.18.0.2, Firmware Version 4.52.9.6119) and I’m receiving “Person detected” notifications even though notifications are turned off. Other events show up in the “Recent Events” list, but only person one’s are actually causing notification events on my phone and other devices. I upgraded my phone (Android) and a couple of iOS devices to app version 3.18 this morning and still receive these notifications. I’ve also submitted log ID 2475435.

Since this started with the new v4, I’ve noticed that I have the same issue with an older cam v3. The v3 is configured in an Alexa device to announce when a person is detected, which Alexa is even doing with that function disabled in the Alexa configuration. And, again, everything has the latest firmware/software installed.
