Floodlight Pro False Advertising Video

At the 46 second mark of the Introduction to the Wzye Floodlight Pro video it shows all the floods being moved up and down, when holding just the side flood. This is not true, as the only flood you can hold to move all 3 is the center one. Why is false advertising normal with Wyze?!

What video are you looking at? I would like to see what you are referencing?

Thanks.

I don’t believe that this is false advertising. Watching all of the video’s out there, it looks like you can move each light independently and the entire 3 lights up or down.

Do you have the new Floodlight Pro already?

Correct, looks like you can move the LEDS independently or all together. Not sure what @Resist is trying to imply

No, unfortunately not. Would love to but since its lacking the back USB port, I will not. Currently I own the v1 floodlight and love it , I need 2 cameras to cover the area where the floodlight camera is mounted. Unfortunately the pro only offers 1 camera, sure the 180⁰ FOV is appreciated but I need 2 cameras to cover opposite areas.

I will probably get the pro later on, I have an area where their is no existing junction box. So I may run some wiring their and use the pro in the future.

Have you thought about running power from the Flood location to an alternate location and install a USB outlet? Then you can put a camera where you would like.

Not sure what you setup is like, but trying to think outside of the box.

As I said in the video at the 46 second mark the guy moves all 3 floods up and down while only holding the right flood. Mine arrived and doing that isn’t possible, as the right and left flood move up/down independently. Again as I said, the only way to move all 3 at once is by moving the center flood. So yeah, it’s once again false advertising from Wyze.

Does this clear things up for anyone?

Since it is a highly critical feature of the Floodlight Pro that would render it completely useless without it, I needed to be assured that it indeed does exhibit the requisite functionality prior to returning it and requesting a full refund.

Mine doesn’t do that at all and it shouldn’t do that because the side lights have to have independent movement, because of the way the hinges are designed. But one thing I did notice is that you are not holding the right light the same way Wyze did in their video, you are holding part of the rear bar. Hold it around the light frame and you won’t be able to move all 3 at once. So again Wyze was falsely advertising.

I have mine and can adjust each individually. When I grab the edge, the entire light array will rotate. Functions exactly as the video showed.

Was not sure which video you were speaking of. But Rulwiz provided the link.

Yes that is the video, at the 46 second mark. Again, as I said if I hold either the right or left flood by the frame to twist up or down, only it moves. All 3 won’t move and no way to tighten it.

All 3 of mine moves when I do that. Not sure what the difference is.

Can you post a video of how you move them? Here is mine.

If I hold tightly onto the flood while grasping the rear rod, as in SlabSlayer’s video then yes I can move all 3 floods at once. But that’s not how Wzye shows them moving in their promotional video.

Absolutely will. But won’t be till tomorrow as I have the grandkids here.

@Resist , here is a video of me holding one side and the entire light moving up and down as the video showed:

Then clearly mine is broken and I’ll be sending it back. Unless the nut on the swivel that tilts all 3 floods is too tight, it is very stiff to move, just can’t find a way to get at it to loosen it. That squeaking sound of the right flood in my video, the left doesn’t make that sound so I’m thinking the right flood might be too tight as well. But this is kind of pissing me off became the when I bought their first floodlight it had issue too and had be replaced.

So I mailed the floodlight back and ordered a new one. It arrived today and the floods move the exact same way as the first one did. Holding either end flood by the frame does not move all 3 floods up or down. So either the center hinge is too tight or the end floods aren’t tight enough, to make all 3 move by holding just one of the end floods, making this a quality control issue. For most people this probably isn’t a big deal but for me, when a company advertises and what I paid for doesn’t isn’t like in the advertising then it’s false advertising.

So now I have a few choices, have Wyze replace it or just keep it and try to figure out how to fix it. If I could lose the center bolt that would probably work, but I can’t get at the head of the bolt. Any suggestions?

I haven’t really tried with any of the ones I bought, but I still have at least one boxed up that I haven’t installed yet, so I might be able to look it over sometime this week and see if I have any suggestions.

Is there a specific need to have all 3 lights move together that can’t be accomplished by moving them separately? I would personally rather have them all move separately and independently so that it is more easily customizable. I see in the same video that they also show all the lights moving independently like most people want.

If it is really important, I am sure there is a way to tighten the hinge screws in a way so that they will stop moving independently so easily, but I suspect most people will want them to move independently, especially since they will still be able to be positioned in any way that they could if they had all moved simultaneously.

I appreciate the help. It would be great is someone did a teardown of it. Maybe I should contact iFixit and see if they would.

But, my main issue is that the product should do exactly as Wyze advertises it. Two others in this thread showed that their floods move the same as the Wyze promotional video shows. Yet, I’m on my second Floodlight Pro and both didn’t do it.

In the big scheme of things it really doesn’t matter but it gets old because Wyze has a history of false advertising and it’s either lazy employees or bad management or both, as no one seems to care about the details in promotional pictures, video and descriptions. I just want what I paid for, it’s bad enough the AI still doesn’t do what they say it’s supposed to do. It constantly miss labels things or completely misses events. And it’s been several years the it’s still not learning.
