I can confirm that the latest V2 doorbell firmware doesn’t work and the so-called fix breaks what was working.
Thanks for the confirmation. I’m sticking with 4.51.1.8444 until I see a compelling reason to attempt an update on this one.
@Crease people began having problems at ***.8444. did you experience those? That’s why the “fix” was released on May 13. Are you saying that, for you, ***.8444 is fine? I initially had issues but they cleared up eventually. I was not able to recover properly from the “fix” and got a warranty replacement that I’m hesitant to upgrade…even to ***.8444. Thanks.
I don’t know which problems you’re referring to, but what has made me hesitant about updating are the reports of missing and/or inconsistent notifications beginning with the 4.51.1.9341 (8 April 2024) update (which seemed to be introduced primarily to add the Wide Dynamic Range feature) and continuing into the current 4.51.1.9807 (13 May 2024) update, which supposedly “[f]ixed a bug that caused notifications to stop”, but that doesn’t seem to square up with user reports here in the Forum.
Possibly you’re referring to other problems that have existed since firmware version 4.51.1.8444, but I don’t know what those would be. I’ve postponed my own firmware update specifically in an effort to avoid losing notifications.
Yes. My last firmware update was months ago with that one.
My bad, I confused the version numbers. I eventually had success (after initial difficulties) on 4.51.1.9341 (8 April 2024) but continued to have difficulties with the “fix” 4.51.1.9807 (13 May 2024).
I’m currently on 4.51.1.8444 with my replacement doorbell and, even though I eventually had success with 4.51.1.9341 (8 April 2024) and enjoyed the HDR, I won’t be updating to that, just in case.
Thanks!
Hope a proper fix gets released soon because I haven’t heard of anyone who has had a success with the “fix” 4.51.1.9807 (13 May 2024)
No sweat. It happens. I just wanted to be explicit about what I’ve been saying in case I was maybe missing another problem.
I remember when you commented in the topic for that firmware update about having things working for you at that time, but I was still hesitant because the most of the posts I was reading about the issue indicated problems.
You’re welcome! I’m happy to help when I can, and I’m here to learn things for myself, too. I’m with you on a hope for a definitive fix, because I’d like to have a chance to experience the WDR thing without risking the loss of notifications.
Beta tester here & 4.36.12.9751 firmware update was very rough the shared option became unusable the events wouldn’t show on my main phone account then the shared hadn’t been able to view live since the update. I’ve re done everything but downgrade the firmware I was able to get the shared one to view events and see a still picture of both cameras but live is not happening.
@WyzeJasonJ Another 17 days have passed and notifications are still rotated incorrectly with app v2.50.6 (469). I tried to submit another log, but I just get an error that says “upload failed”.
Also, I logged in to the web app for the first time yesterday and found that all of the event thumbnails from this camera are incorrectly rotated. The videos play correctly.
Hi, any update on the doorbell notification issue?

Just submitted log ID 1428554 on this issue. I included a screenshot of the notifications with the log

Is there any Google Home app update for Wyze cams on iOS?
Google has told some that it is a Wyze issue? While Wyze says it is a Google issue.
Wyze cams do work on Chromecast TV 4K but not iOS Google Home app.
Is there a parameter that needs to be fixed?
This may or may not be related. I just noticed that the notifications for the v1 Doorbell are sent twice (both on my Android and iPad). They show up only once in the events tab of the Wyze app but twice on the devices. Also note the last one at 6:25am the first notification was tagged Complete Motion Detected yet the second one was tagged Person Detected.

I’m on the beta app. My app updated to v3.0.0 (b489) today and the issue with rotated alerts from the doorbell and the incorrect aspect ratio for event videos are both (finally) resolved!
Doorbell event previews are still rotated 90-degrees on Wyze Web Events.
Dude. I don’t have that particular product, so I’ve never experienced that issue, but I like reading reports of things being fixed, so thanks for sharing this.
I have the same issue. Had sideways (rotated 90 degrees) preview thumbnails in notifications on Android for several months, and I thought they were still doing that but I just noticed a notification that was normal. Hopefully that’s resolved now! But the Web interface does still have the thumbnails rotated 90 degrees (playback seems to be rotated properly though).
