First full day of Summer

I thought Summer started last month, but it started last night at 10:45pm EDT.

The pool is going to feel like a big hot tub.

Nice pool. Here is the first day of summer in Oregon. Never to wet for kids to bike.

Do you have or use a cover for your pool? Ours has a similar design as yours and we don’t have or use one, but we are losing a couple of hundred of gallons of water per day. I have been trying to use the liquid solar cover stuff, but it doesn’t last long.

We’re not totally sure if we’re losing everything due to evaporation or how much a “leak” might be involved somewhere. Though, I guess you live in a humid area and I live in a dry desert type of area at a high elevation, so that probably kills me on the evaporation a lot. I also don’t get the joy of diving iguanas. The only things that come to my Oasis are my cats and insects.

No more pool pictures unless there is one of your Iguana friends in it or diving into it.

No cover all year round. I once had a leak after I changed the lightbulb and the water level dropped quickly. I don’t change the light anymore since patching the leak.

It is amazing how much water evaporates in the Summer time. Last year the rain kept the pool full most of the time. I didn’t bleed off excess and pool was 6 inches deeper. Year before, I had to fill it weekly.

I did chase two iguanas off of the pool deck into my neighbor’s backyard, today. Sometimes they run when I open the shades on my sliding doors, but today I had to run them off. Glad I haven’t seen any alligators.

Unfortunately, that happens quite often. I hope my fence keeps them out of my pool. I did see a video where a gator climbed over a chain-link fence. Mine is wooden.

I did have two turtles jump in my pool, since living in this house.

After seeing a videos of iguanas and snakes show up in the toilet, I fenced over my toilet exhaust on the roof. That would scare the carp out me. I am concerned about my dangly bits, if something is beneath me.
