Camera’s stopped recording vehicle, person, package, motion events a few days ago. Sound events still show up

Package delivered but no notification at all not even to Alexa

Have you attempted any troubleshooting yet?

Like reset services, restart, reboot router. Yes. And streaming works even from remote cell. Detecting sound sends notifications. Just not any motion detection events.
Now possibly related or not 2 bulbs went offline, but are connected to the router.

Today and last night I received notifications of events with no vehicle or pets or persons just my motion flood light on so something set it off. Over 25 before I stopped checking. Something is wrong.

The 2 bulbs showing offline while the other 2 were online and all were connected to router this got me looking further.

When DNS over TLS to Quad9 was disabled on my Asus router they started working again. Re-enable those 2 went offline again. Changed to Cloudflare and Google they worked again with DoT.

All events are now being recorded.

Very odd, that sound events and streaming worked but motion events did not. And only 2 of 4 bulbs stopped working seemingly related to Quad9 DoT.

That’s goofy, but it interests me because I’ve been using Quad9 for several years, but I use just the “regular” DNS because until recently I didn’t have DoH or DoT support on a router (and now I’m seeing that the way I set up two new routers the one I chose for the main doesn’t support DoH/DoT but the one I chose for the satellite does, so I may have to reevaluate my strategy…).

I guess I say that to say that maybe this isn’t a Quad9 DNS issue (because I’m not seeing this problem with their regular DNS) but possibly has something to do with how they’ve implemented DoT? I’m just speculating, though, and that may or may not be useful here. :man_shrugging:

Anyway, I’m glad you found a way to get things working again! :+1:
