We have enjoyed the video doorbell - our previous biggest wishlist item was for calls to come in when someone was at the door vs having to hunt for a notification.

So you can imagine our happiness when we saw the VoIP option appear in the latest app.

Until…we noticed that it only appeared on my app and not my Wife’s because I “own” the doorbell and have shared it with her.

We used to login to the same account which would get around this but had to have her sign in as herself for the Wyze Watch and Scale.

So now we’re in a catch 22 - login as the same account and lose access to watch and scale functionality for one spouse, or login to two different apps and only one of us can actually get incoming calls (of course we never know who will be home, away, awake or asleep 🙂

Is there a possible solution for this quandry? Thanks!

Ken

It’s to the point with the wide variety of products that Wyze create a Household account or share vs a generic product share. HH shares could have full access to doorcambell video and calls, for example. When a product is added to your app, you have the choice to designate it as part of the HH: doorcambell, lamp, robovac, etc; or personal: scale, watch, etc. If users could create multiple Households that may solve users’ issues with multiple locations: AirBnBs, vacation homes, etc.

I’m in a bit of a comparable situation. I installed doorbells and cameras for my parents’ house within my own account and shared them with their Wyze account.

I do this so I can manage the cameras, troubleshoot as necessary, update firmware, and pay for them to have CamPlus within my own account.

Being able to associate who to notify for a specific doorbell based upon who they’ve been shared with would be a particularly useful feature for me. Especially if I could deselect myself for their doorbell notifications.

### WYZE Video Doorbell Notifies Other Selected Users?!?

Currently, only the holder of the “main account” gets a VOIP call when somebody rings your Wyze Video Doorbell.

I wish I had known this before I dove into the Wyze ecosystem as we have several employees who need to know if there is someone at our front entrance.

Is there not a workaround?

Meanwhile, the AI tech support “person” Wyze has on my ticket keeps telling me to purchase the Wyze wifi chime, which is – of course! – indefinitely out-of-stock.

Meanwhile, we are a production facility with numerous spaces, so the chime solution ain’t gonna fly.

Anyone have any suggestions for having a Wyze doorbell notify selected users when someone rings the doorbell?

This business of me sending a group text when I get the VOIP notification is…ass-backwards.

**[Mod Note]:** _Your topic was merged to this #Wishlist request for consistency in grouping similar requests and for better visibility to Wyze. Please remember to scroll up to the top and click the **VOTE** button to show your support._

Welcome to the Forum, @earshotdtn! 👋

If you’re using the original [Wyze Video Doorbell](https://www.wyze.com/products/wyze-doorbell), then I can’t speak directly to that device (nor to [Video Doorbell Pro](https://www.wyze.com/products/wyze-video-doorbell-pro)), and I also don’t have any recent iOS experience (I see that you self-designated as an iOS/iPadOS user), but I have been able to [enable VoIP calls](https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/26141395081115-How-do-I-enable-VOIP-calls-on-Wyze-Video-Doorbell-v2) (I think Wyze changed the name of this feature to “Virtual Calls” sometime last year) for myself as “owner” and also for a shared-access user (both using Android) for [Video Doorbell v2](https://www.wyze.com/products/wyze-video-doorbell-v2), [Battery Video Doorbell](https://www.wyze.com/products/wyze-battery-video-doorbell), and [Duo Cam Doorbell](https://www.wyze.com/products/wyze-duo-cam-doorbell).

Most recently, I did this for a shared-access user account phone last night for a Duo Cam Doorbell. In order to get that to work, I had to navigate into the phone’s Phone app settings and select **Calls ➜ Calling accounts ➜ All calling accounts** and enable “wyze / Wyze Doorbell”. I don’t know what would be necessary to get this to work on an iPhone, but this requested feature already exists for shared-access users of at least the three newest Wyze video doorbells.

This might depend on which specific Wyze and mobile devices you’re using, so more detail would be necessary to answer that question if you want your employees to receive that specific kind of notification on mobile devices.

That’s been an ongoing problem for a while now, and you’re not the first Forum user to be frustrated by that. I’d suggest signing up for availability notifications if you haven’t already done that and/or looking at authorized resellers. Occasionally I think those become available on Amazon when they’re not in the Wyze Shop.

> [@earshotdtn](#):
>

Again, depending on which devices you’re using, this should already be possible. Other potential solutions could include using things like Automations so that whenever a doorbell button press is detected then something like a Wyze Plug turns on (to activate a noise-making device or something else) or a Wyze Bulb Color blinks/turns on/changes its light to a particular color. Something like that might work in a facility as an indicator to employees in the immediate area.

If you were using Android, then it might also be possible to use a third-party notification interceptor to send group texts on your behalf whenever your phone receives a specific notification like this. I’m not aware of any way to do this on iOS, though.

Please add support for Virtual Calls when a Duo Cam Doorbell is shared with another person’s separate Wyze account.

My wife has her own account, and I share only our home devices with her. She can view the doorbell, but she cannot enable Virtual Calls or receive the phone-like incoming call when someone presses the button.

Wyze Support confirmed that Virtual Calls currently require signing into the primary account. Sharing that login is not suitable because it also contains business cameras that must remain private.

The requested feature is:

- Let the owner grant Virtual Calls permission for a specific shared doorbell.
- Allow both users’ phones to ring when someone presses the button.
- Keep all other devices private unless explicitly shared.
- Allow either person to answer, and clearly indicate when the other person has answered.
- Preserve the doorbell’s existing Cam Plus coverage without requiring a second subscription.

Standard push notifications are helpful, but they do not provide the same incoming-call experience.

This would let household members answer the doorbell using their own accounts while preserving privacy and avoiding password sharing.

Exactly! And perfectly explained.

That one cannot “share” a monitored entry used by EVERYONE is really a nightmare.

I am surprised someone approved this design.

I guess they live alone…or nobody comes to their door!

Hi @Crease, thanks for sharing your experience! I saw that you got Virtual Calls working on a Duo Cam Doorbell shared with a separate account.

Does that still work for you? Would you mind sharing which phones you used and how you enabled it?

My wife has her own account and can view our shared doorbell, but we haven’t found the Virtual Calls option on her phone. She uses a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, in case that makes a difference.

Any pointers from your setup would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help!

I just tested pressing the Duo Cam Doorbell’s button, and both my phone and the shared-access user’s phone rang for an incoming call from the doorbell.

> [@juanriojas](#):
>
> Would you mind sharing which phones you used and how you enabled it?

My current phone is a Google Pixel 6 running Android 17. The shared-access user’s phone is a Motorola moto g power - 2025 running Android 16.

In the Wyze app on my phone, I see that I can enable Virtual Calls in two different places:

1. From Duo Cam Doorbell’s plugin page (live view screen), tap ** Settings ➜ Virtual Calls ➜ Enable Virtual Calls**.
2. From the Wyze app ** Home** screen, tap ** Account ➜ Notifications ➜ Virtual Calls ➜ Enable Virtual Calls**.

_I do not see these same options on the shared-access user’s phone_, so I would not expect to see these options in the Wyze app on your wife’s phone when she’s using her own Wyze account.

Have you enabled `wyze` (it always appears in all lowercase in my experience) as a “calling account” on both phones? Please note the necessity of doing this in [the note for Android users in the Help Center article for VOIP calls](https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/26141395081115-How-do-I-enable-VOIP-calls-on-Wyze-Video-Doorbell-v2#:~:text=For%20Android%20Users). If you didn’t enable it after the first time you turned on Virtual Calls for Duo Cam Doorbell and then pressed the doorbell’s ring button, then you may need to check each phone’s Phone app settings. For the moto (my shared-access user’s phone), I do this:

1. Launch the **Phone** app.
2. Tap the (upper-left) to open the menu.
3. Tap ** Settings**.
4. Tap **Calling accounts**.
5. If you don’t see `wyze` on the list, then tap **All calling accounts** and enable it (toggle it on ) on the next screen.
6. Test by pressing the Duo Cam Doorbell’s ring button.

That’s where I’d start. If that works, then an additional step I’d suggest is [adding the doorbell’s calling number (you should be able to see that in the Phone app’s call history) to your contacts with an appropriate image](https://forums.wyze.com/t/modifying-wording-for-doorbell-press-notifications/219975/9#p-1052774-customizing-notifications-3). I’ve used several different Wyze video doorbells and have created a separate contact for each so that I know which one is “calling” me when they’re in use or being tested.

I hope that helps. Thanks for using the @“mention” feature to get my attention. I get so many notifications here that I might not’ve seen your questions otherwise. 👍

Thanks so much for testing that again, @Crease! It’s especially helpful to know that the shared phone doesn’t show the Virtual Calls options in Wyze either.

The part we haven’t found on my wife’s Samsung is the “wyze” calling account in the Phone app. Do you happen to know where Samsung puts that setting, or whether the Phone app used on your Motorola makes a difference?

Also, when you first set it up, did pressing the doorbell after enabling Virtual Calls on the owner’s phone bring up a calling-account permission on the shared phone? We can check that sequence when we’re both home.

Really appreciate your help!

That’s probably the missing piece, or at least that’s my guess, and I have no idea where Samsung puts that in their Phone app. I can think of some other Forum users whom I know have said that they use Samsung devices, but I don’t know if they’re sharing doorbells and using Virtual Calls. Maybe some other [@Mavens](https://forums.wyze.com/groups/mavens) can provide input?

I really don’t know and would just have to poke around in the settings or search the Web for an answer. My impression with Google and Motorola devices is that they use stock/near-stock Android, and I think Samsung makes quite a few changes to the Android variant they install on their devices, so some settings might be different.

That’s my recollection, yes.

I apologize for the delay in my response. It has been quite a busy couple of weeks. Go into your settings on an Android phone and search call, scroll down and you will see. Calling accounts. You want to go into there.

![Screenshot_20261104_174515_Settings Suggestions](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wyze/original/3X/6/9/69e1ba331058e2b19af90cd5c58bc6563768ff0b.jpeg)

Once you go into calling accounts you can add Wyze almost like an esim. That’s how everything will come through and work correctly.
