*Universal Chime from Wyze…..I have tried EVERYthing! I mean everything! It will not connect. When I plug the chime in, it flashes red and constantly says, Ready to connect.. I get to the page of Prepare Chime, press the reset button for 5 seconds….ok did that but,There is no NEXT! it’s grayed out. All the time the light still flashes red.I even just left it plugged in and my phone on with the same screen for a half hour. I have rebooted my doorbell, my new modem and this chime. (all my cameras, the doorbell itself are all working just fine.) I am so ticked at this chime. This shouldn’t be happening.
Which chime is that? I imagine it might be the new “Universal” Wi-Fi Chime, because it seems like you’re describing a process for adding this as a separate device within the Wyze app, but I don’t want to make assumptions in case you’re talking about the older Wyze Chime (for the original Video Doorbell) or Chime Pro (for Video Doorbell Pro). If we can get some clarification on what you’re using, then that could help with getting your topic proper visibility.
Did you tick the checkbox to the left of the text where the app says ‘I heard, “Ready to connect.”’? You can see that in the unboxing video here, and it’s also mentioned in the setup guide. Is that the missing step to activate that button?
yes, I’m sorry. It’s the Universal Chime from Wyze.
No apology is necessary. I just want to make sure this is correctly tagged as a benefit to you and others who might be faced with the same problem. Thanks for clarifying! ![]()
What about the answers to the other questions?
Why is this post in the Cameras section?
Wi-Fi Chime is an accessory that originally launched/shipped with Duo Cam Doorbell, was later made available separately, and is intended for use with Wyze Cams and Video Doorbells. Since there is no “Accessories” category and this product is an accessory for cameras, having this topic in the Cameras category probably makes the most sense. I imagine that’s the way the tags are configured, too, but that’s more of an administrator question.
I’m still interested in @granbjd22’s answers to my other questions, though. I’m curious about whether this issue has been resolved and what doorbell or camera @granbjd22 is trying to use with Wi-Fi Chime.
