I’ve had wyze cams since their 1st month in business - and was initially happy with them. I now have 12 cameras (all on 2.4, obviously), mostly recent models. I work from home, and have 4 BIG dogs with many daily deliveries and I NEED to monitor all cameras with half inside and half outside cams. My problem has been durable connectivity. My router is a Nighthawk RAX78. I have 4 WiFi TVs (on 5.1) and 4 cell phones (on 5…2). My problem is when i look at live view (chrome browser) the MAJORITY of my cams show as “offline.”
I even tried putting a 2nd nighthawk router online and connected only the wyze cams to it and that made a small but short-lived improvement in connectivity - within a week 90% of my cams displayed “connection failed, reconnect or reboot device.” I removed 2nd router and am back to my single RAX78 router. The most aggrivating part is that when a cam goes offline it remains offline until I click the reconnect button, which rarely “reconnects” said camera. I’ve read mixed reviews on the wyze mesh pro routers with heat problems. But I feel I’m running out of options.
I even bought smart plugs to re-power my cameras daily at different times - no improvement.
I’ve worked in technology for 30+ years, so I’m no novice but, surely I’m not the ONLY person running 10-ish cams with a need to live-monitor often??? SOMEONE has surely solved this scale of configuration before? Does a anyone have any hardware or configuration recommendations? I am deeply frustrated at this point - but willing to try anything that someone “has used” to solve the problem of a lack of “durable connectivity.”
ANY help, thoughts, suggestions, work-arounds, troubleshooting procedures, methods, configurations, or rain-dances would be GREATLY appreciated.
I’m running an Advantech ICR-3241-ND enterprise cellular router with a mesh WiFi system connected to the cellular router. I have 28 Wyze cams connected
While every Wyze cam works with the App, the webpage Wyze Web Live does have issues here too, depending on my available bandwidth to my cell router at the time I have mixed results and sometimes they all work and most of the times just some work (Roughly 1/3 to half of them) Beings that the App works flawlessly and the web access doesn’t I mostly use the app on a tablet to monitor wyze cams.
I do have the App on a Windows 11 pro PC and the App works flawless their too.
I think the Wyze Web Live is more the issue.
Thank you, but are you saying it’s not possible to reliably continuously view a non-interrupted live image of 10-15 simultaneous wyze cams?
In my case, I’ve run it (in my home) on a PC using the wyze mobile app in three simultaneous instances of bluestacks, separately on the wyze web app in a browser, and in the wyze mobile app on my phone, and they all show similar outages. Where would one find a / the [recommended?] definition of a PC platform configuration to display 10-15 cams “dependably?” I don’t need a cellular router, this is in my home.
Basically how do I get a dependable [active live] monitoring configuration to remain persistent without the need to click the damn “reconnect” button for every camera 25 times a day?
